Dopamine beta-hydroxylase activity was higher in mesenteric vessels, adrenal glands, and serum of 3-week-old spontaneously hypertensive rats but lower the locus coeruleus than it control Wistar-Kyoto rats. The results support concept that nervous system is an important regulator blood pressure.
Objectives This study aimed to assess whether the combined use of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or antibiotics (penicillins, macrolides, cephalosporins fluoroquinolones) was associated an increased risk acute kidney injury (AKI). Design A nested case–control study. Setting health insurance claims database constructed by Japan Medical Data Center. Participants Patients were eligible if they prescribed a PPI, NSAID and antibiotic at least...
Abstract Background Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are widely used for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders such as peptic ulcer disease and dyspepsia. However, several studies have suggested that PPI use increases risk acute kidney injury (AKI). PPIs often concomitantly with antibiotics, macrolides penicillins Helicobacter pylori eradication. Although macrolide antibiotics considered to relatively low nephrotoxicity, they well known increase AKI due drug-drug interactions. In this...
Dopamine-beta-hydroxylase (DBH) activity in serum, DBH and tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) activities mesenteric vessels, TH locus coeruleus hypothalamus of brain did not differ significantly between spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) normotensive Wistar-Kyoto (WKR) at 16 weeks age when hypertension SHR was fixed. In contrast, vas deferens adrenal glands were higher than WKR. These changes after establishment are directly opposite those reported previously 3 before the onset hypertension.
The involvement of superoxide‐generating NADPH oxidase ( NOX ) in the cytotoxic effects cigarette smoke extracts has been documented. However, underlying molecular mechanisms and isoform involved have not fully clarified. Among different isoforms identified so far, 1 4 were found to be expressed rat H9c2 cardiomyocytes. When cells exposed acrolein or methyl vinyl ketone MVK ), major toxic components extracts, a dose‐dependent decline cell viability was observed. Unexpectedly, disruption Nox1...
A case of adrenal pheochromocytoma Is reported characterized by polygonal basophilic granular cells benign type, plump eosinophilic transitional and spindle-shaped malignant type. In the primary tumor neoplastic each type revealed a distinctive topographical distribution. All gradations between latter two varieties were found, especially in vicinity cell area. Multiple metastases present liver lungs, where only anaplastic could be found. Ultrastructurally, contained predominantly large,...
Abstract Background Post-stroke delirium affects between 24% and 43% of patients, negatively impacts patient outcomes. Recently, research attention has been on preventive interventions for delirium, with melatonin receptor agonists orexin antagonists reported to be effective in preventing intensive care unit patients. However, the efficacy these agents post-stroke remain unclear. This study examined ramelteon, suvorexant, lemborexant symptoms patients stroke. Methods A retrospective survey...
