To assess the efficacy of 2% dorzolamide/0.5% timolol/0.2% brimonidine tartrate fixed combination (DTB-FC) eye drops in patients with intermediate glaucoma stage. A retrospective case series study was performed, including eyes diagnosed primary open-angle (POAG) or chronic angle-closure (CACG), which were at stage illness according to Brusini grading system and initially treated timolol (DT-FC), switched baseline DTB-FC. Main outcome intraocular pressure (IOP) measured, as well weeks 1 2,...

TcTASV-C is a protein family of about 15 members that expressed only in the trypomastigote stage Trypanosoma cruzi. We have previously shown located at parasite surface and secreted to medium. Here we report expression different genes occurs simultaneously while some parasite-associated products are found both fractions, others different. Secreted mainly shedded through extracellular vesicles, which they an abundant constituent, despite its scarce on culture-derived trypomastigotes. In...

Clone libraries were used to evaluate the effects of 2,4-dinitroanisole (DNAN) and n-methyl-4-nitroaniline (MNA) on bacterial populations within three anaerobic bioreactors. Prior addition DNAN MNA greater than 69% clones in each reactor identified as a single Desulfuromonales species. However, after 60 days treatment distribution decreased less 13% clone Levilinea sp. became dominant organism at 27% suggesting species may play an important roll reduction MNA.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect sodium hyaluronate (SH) on benzalkonium chloride (BAK)-induced toxicity in ocular surface epithelium and corneal nerves. Methods: Ocular epithelial cells from Balb/c mice were cultured with 0.1% 0.4% SH 0.001% 0.01% BAK their metabolic activity, viability, wound repair capacity assessed vitro. Following a controlled wound, re-epithelialization recovery barrier function mechanosensitivity measured treated 3 times/day twice daily...

Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study was to the osmoprotective and bioprotective effect trehalose 3% + carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) 0.5% during desiccation conditions. Materials Methods: Normal human conjunctival epithelial cells (IOBA) were exposed (1) culture media (control); (2) CMC glycerin 0. 9% polyethylene glycol 400 0.25% (vehicle); (3) vehicle (trehalose). Cells treated for 1 h then desiccating Metabolic activity evaluated by...
