Abstract Background Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a major foodborne pathogen that contaminates aquatic products and causes great economic losses to aquaculture. Because of the emergence multidrug-resistant V. strains, bacteriophages are considered promising agents for their biocontrol as an alternative or supplement antibiotics. In this study, lytic vibriophage, vB_VpaM_R16F (R16F), infecting 1.1997 T was isolated, characterized evaluated its potential. Methods A vibriophage R16F isolated from...

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia ( S. ) is an emerging opportunistic pathogen that exhibits resistant to a majority of commonly used antibiotics. Phages have the potential serve as alternative treatment for infections. In this study, lytic phage, A1432, infecting YCR3A-1, was isolated and characterized from karst cave. Transmission electron microscopy revealed phage A1432 possesses icosahedral head shorter tail. Phage demonstrated narrow host range, with optimal multiplicity infection 0.1. The...

Pseudomonas syringae is a gram-negative plant pathogen that infects plants such as tomato and poses threat to global crop production. In this study, novel lytic phage infecting P. pv. DC3000, named D6, was isolated characterized from sediments in karst cave. The latent period of D6 found be 60 min, with burst size 16 plaque-forming units per cell. Phage stable at temperatures between 4 40 °C but lost infectivity when heated 70 °C. Its unaffected pH 6-10 became inactivated ≤ 5 or ≥ 12. genome...

Bean beetle (Callosobruchus maculatus) exhibits clear phenotypic plasticity depending on population density; However, the underlying molecular mechanism remains unknown. Compared to low-density individuals, high-density individuals showed a faster terminal oocyte maturity rate. Four insulin-like peptide (ILP) genes were identified in bean beetle, which had higher expression levels head than thorax and abdomen. The density could regulate of CmILP1-3, CmILP2-3, CmILP1 as well CmILP3 head,...

The introduction of the concepts shear elastic strain (ε−) and tensile (ε+) is a catalyst for new horizons research into supply chain elasticity. Functional formulas encompassing metrics ε− ε+, their critical point, maximum value, similar parameters are established through rigorous mathematical derivations. elasticity agricultural commodities, including grains, apples, wheat, assessed by utilizing derived formulas. results show that serve as direct measuring chain’s anti-interference...

A novel, Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, non-endospore-forming, non-motile and rod-shaped bacterium designated PO-11T was isolated from sediment of karst cave collected in Libo county, Guizhou Province, PR China. The isolate grew optimally on R2A agar at 25 °C, pH 8.0 with 0.5 % (w/v) NaCl. Phylogenetic analysis based 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that belonged to the genus Arthrobacter most closely related methylotrophus TGAT (98.3 sequence similarity), alkaliphilus LC6T (97.7 %) ramosus...

Abstract Prophages, which enables bacterial hosts to acquire novel traits, and increase genetic variation evolutionary innovation, are considered be one of the greatest drivers diversity evolution. Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is widely distributed most important multidrug resistant bacteria in hospitals. However, distribution S. prophages have not been elucidated. In this study, putative were predicted genomes by using virus prediction tools, phylogeny they harbor further analyzed. A total...

Seventy-one open reading frames (ORFs) were predicted, no tRNAs found in genome. Phylogenetic analysis closely related to genus Salvovirus family Casjensviridae. Intergenomic similarities between its homologous phages up 90.6%, suggesting new species.

The bean beetle (Callosobruchus maculatus) clearly exhibits population density-dependent polymorphism. Cytochrome P450 (CYP) is involved in many aspects of the physiological activities insects. However, role CYP polymorphisms remains unknown. terminal oocyte maturity rate high-population-density individuals (H) was faster than that low-population-density (L).
