We use field and natural experiments in online auctions to study the revenue effect of varying level disclosure shipping charges. Our main findings are (1) affects revenues—for low charges, a seller is better off disclosing; (2) increasing charges boosts revenues when these hidden. This paper examines how housing market distress affects job search.Using data from a leading online search platform during the Great Recession, we find that seekers in areas with depressed markets apply for fewer jobs require relocation.With their constrained geographically, broaden to lower level positions nearby.These effects are stronger recourse mortgages, which confirm using spatial regression discontinuity analysis.Our findings suggest distorts labor outcomes by impeding household mobility.
