The effect of manganese content, aluminium top slag and stirring on manganese-containing inclusions characteristics was investigated by laboratory thermal experiments precipitation thermodynamics calculation. results indicated that the types in steel were mainly single MnS, MnS–Al2O3, MnS–TiN MnS–Al2O3–TiN complex inclusions. morphology transformed from spherical ellipsoidal to polyhedral as result content increased, which is attributed large solidus-liquidus phase difference high steel,...

With the ubiquitous use of modern large language models (LLMs) across industries, inference serving for these is ever expanding. Given high compute and memory requirements LLMs, more top-of-the-line GPUs are being deployed to serve models. Energy availability has come forefront as biggest challenge data center expansion In this paper, we present trade-offs brought up by making energy efficiency primary goal LLM under performance SLOs. We show that depending on inputs, model, service-level...

The rising demand for generative large language models (LLMs) poses challenges thermal and power management in cloud datacenters. Traditional techniques often are inadequate LLM inference due to the fine-grained, millisecond-scale execution phases, each with distinct performance, thermal, profiles. Additionally, workloads sensitive various configuration parameters (e.g., model parallelism, size, quantization) that involve trade-offs between temperature, power, output quality. Moreover,...

Ganoderma lucidum (Leyss. ex Fr.) Karst, commonly known as Lingzhi, has long been employed in traditional Chinese medicine for its medicinal properties, particularly alleviating respiratory issues like cough and asthma. Recognized both a therapeutic agent an edible supplement, Lingzhi is celebrated health-promoting benefits. Despite widespread use, the effectiveness of G. treating pneumonia not extensively studied, highlighting need further research. This research aimed to evaluate potential...

Today's serverless provides "function-as-a-service" with dynamic scaling and fine-grained resource charging, enabling new cloud applications. Serverless functions are invoked as a best-effort service. We propose an extension to serverless, called real-time that invocation rate guarantee, service-level objective (SLO) specified by the application, delivered underlying implementation. Real-time allows applications guarantee performance.

Summary Vanillin, a food additive, covalently binds with sickle haemoglobin (Hb S), inhibits cell sickling and shifts the oxygen equilibrium curve towards left. These effects would potentially benefit patients disease (SCD). However, vanillin has no therapeutic effect if given orally because administered is rapidly decomposed in upper digestive tract. To overcome this problem, prodrug, MX‐1520, which biotransformed to vivo , was synthesized. Studies using transgenic mice, nearly exclusively...

In this work, void formation in medium carbon ferrite-pearlite steel is investigated with soft reduction (SR) technology as regards its initiation sites and governing factors: prior austenite grain size, boundary ferrite (GB-α) precipitation, pearlite block size sub-grain boundaries misorientation. The small tightly packed colonies attached GB-α irregular broken cementite lamellae provide an easier path for at (PAGB) colony respectively. 3-dimensional morphology including porosities...

Abstract Defect‐rich carbon materials are considered as one of the most promising anodes for potassium‐ion batteries due to their enormous adsorption sites K + , while realization both rate capability and cycling stability is still greatly limited by unstable electrochemical kinetics inevitable structure degradation. Herein, an Fe 3+ ‐induced hydrothermal‐pyrolysis strategy reported construct well‐tailored hybrid nanotubes network architecture (PP‐CNT), in which short‐range graphitic...

Cloud providers, like Amazon and Microsoft, must guarantee high availability for a large fraction of their workloads. For this reason, they build datacenters with redundant infrastructures power delivery cooling. Typically, the resources are reserved use only during infrastructure failure or maintenance events, so that workload performance do not suffer. Unfortunately, also produce lower utilization and, consequently, require more to be built. To address these problems, in paper we propose...

Traditional sonar-array-based target tracking algorithms may be unsuitable for on-demand missions, since they assume that the sonar arrays should towed or mounted by a submarine ship. Alternatively, underwater wireless sensor networks can offer promising solution approach. First, each node is battery-powered, so saving energy expenditure critical issue. Instead of keeping all nodes active, this paper provides local selection (LNS) scheme which increases efficiency waking up only small part...

The recognition of blast furnace iron-tapping status is crucial for improving the production efficiency and quality ironmaking plants. However, traditional manual observation methods face interference from a large amount iron powder other dust in environment, as well problems such splashing during tapping, making it difficult to achieve accurate real-time recognition. In addition, liquid-level detection required automatic also affected by factors foam, surface oxidation, slag skin,...
