Abstract Giant exoplanets orbiting close to their host stars are unlikely have formed in present configurations 1 . These ‘hot Jupiter’ planets instead thought migrated inward from beyond the ice line and several viable migration channels been proposed, including eccentricity excitation through angular-momentum exchange with a third body followed by tidally driven orbital circularization 2,3 The discovery of extremely eccentric ( e = 0.93) giant exoplanet HD 80606 b (ref. 4 ) provided...
Abstract We report the discovery and confirmation of Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) single-transit, warm dense sub-Saturn, TIC 139270665 b. This planet is unusually for its size: with a bulk density 2.13 g cm −3 (0.645 R J , 0.463 M ), it densest sub-Saturn TESS family. It orbits metal-rich G2 star. also found evidence second planet, c, longer period 1010...
We present a coordinated campaign of observations to monitor the brightness James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) as it travels toward second Earth-Sun Lagrange point and unfolds using network Unistellar digital telescopes. Those collected by citizen astronomers across world allowed us detect specific phases such separation from booster, glare due change orientation after maneuver, unfurling sunshield, deployment primary mirror. After sunshield on January 6 2022, 6-h lightcurve has significant...
