To assess cancer risks in a population that received prolonged low dose-rate gamma-irradiation for about 10 years as result of occupying buildings containing 60Co-contaminated steel Taiwan. The were compared with those populations the same temporal and geographic characteristics Taiwan by standardized incidence ratios (SIR), adjusted age gender. The association excess cumulative exposure was further evaluated their relative Poisson multiple regression analysis.A total 7271 people registered...

OBJECTIVES: Risk factors for increased blood lead concentration (BPb) has been investigated. However, the effect of sibship and Chinese herbal medicine on BPb not systematically studied. In this study data from voluntary testing was used to determine if were associated with BPb. METHODS: 319 children aged 1-7 tested Meanwhile, parents interviewed obtain information including consumption medicine, living environment, lifestyle, tested. RESULTS: The mean (SD) preschool 4.4 (2.4) micrograms/dl....

Two new fibrinolytic saponins, lucyosides N and P, were isolated from the seeds of Luffa cylindrica Roem. (Cucurbitaceae). On basis chemical spectral evidence, lucyoside was characterized as 3-O-beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1----2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl-28- O-beta-D-xylopyranosyl-(1----4)-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1----3)]-alpha-L -rhamnopyranosyl-(1----2)-alpha-arabinopyranosyl quillaic acid. Lucyoside P a gypsogenin glycoside with same sugar moiety N.

This 1986–2006 study sought to determine whether specific causes led increased mortality risks for Taiwanese workers with an approved compensation claim permanent occupational disability (ACCPOD) of the upper or lower extremities. All cases ACCPOD between 1986 and 2006 were collected from database claims at Bureau Labor Insurance. Standardized ratios 95% confidence intervals calculated different death among A total 800,047 person-years accrued 71,001 a single type disability. significantly...

During the screening test of animal crude drug "Chan su" (Chinese name, toad-cake), venom Bufo bufo gargorizans CANTOR (Bufonidae), on blood coagulation, platelet aggregation, fibrinolysis system and cytotoxicity, ethyl acetate extract showed promotive action aggregation remarkable cytotoxic activity HeLa-S3 cells. Nine kinds bufadienolides were isolated from by bioactivity-guided fractionation identified chemical spectral analysis.
