Inflammation is a key contributor to stroke pathogenesis and exacerbates brain damage leading poor outcome. Interleukin-1 (IL-1) an important regulator of post-stroke inflammation, blocking its actions beneficial in pre-clinical models safe the clinical setting. However, distinct roles two major IL-1 receptor type 1 agonists, IL-1α IL-1β, specific role ischemic remain largely unknown. Here we show that IL-1β have different spatio-temporal expression profiles after experimental stroke, with...

Abstract The biological and chemical examination of thyroid samples has demonstrated the inadequacy B.P. assay, which is based upon determination so-called “thyroxine iodine”. It suggested that, in absence specific methods for determining thyroxine tri-iodothyronine thyroid, assay should be replaced by a assay. mouse anoxia method shown to suitable this purpose. potencies assayed thus over past 3 years, together with data clinical comments are presented. relative activities constituents...

The cells in synovial fluid from patients with rheumatoid arthritis contain a small percentage of macrophages. Such macrophages were isolated and cultured alone homologous heterologous lymphocytes for 24 hours, an attempt to identify possible contact between living was found, clustering around macrophages, particularly well shown by scanning electron microscopy.
