In humans, nutrient deprivation and extreme endurance exercise both activate autophagy. We hypothesized that cumulating fasting cycling would potentiate activation of autophagy in skeletal muscle. Well-trained athletes were divided into control (n = 8), low-intensity (LI, n high-intensity (HI, 7) groups submitted to fed sessions. Muscle biopsy samples obtained from the vastus lateralis before, at end, 1 h after a 2 LI or HI bout exercise. Phosphorylation ULK1(Ser317) was higher (P < 0.001)....

EVIDENS is an ongoing, prospective, non-interventional study evaluating the effectiveness and safety of nivolumab in lung cancer patients France (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT03382496).Adults with a pathologically confirmed diagnosis initiating treatment were recruited from 146 sites France. This analysis included only non-small cell (NSCLC) who received ≥1 infusion, evaluated patient characteristics at time initiation its after median follow-up 18 months.A total 1,420 NSCLC included, most whom had...

Airborne electromagnetics (AEM) is a key tool for 3D subsurface imaging, enabling fast, efficient collection of large datasets hydrogeological studies (Deleersnyder et al., 2023; Madsen 2022). Combined with geostatistical modelling techniques, AEM data generates geologically realistic, data-consistent models (Hermans 2015). Geostatistics integrates diverse data, captures geological variability, and addresses parameter uncertainties. This study inversion results the Markov-type categorical...

Abstract Background and Objectives Most research studies on the effects of repeated plasma donation are observational with different study limitations, resulting in high uncertainty link between health consequences. Here, we prospectively investigated safety intensive or less protocols. Materials Methods Sixty‐three male subjects participated this randomized controlled trial were divided into low‐frequency (LF, once/month, n = 16), high‐frequency (HF, three times/month, very (VHF, two...

The lifetime of Mo/Si multilayer-coated projection optics is one the outstanding issues on road commercialization extreme-ultraviolet lithography (EUVL). application multilayer in EUVL requires both sufficient radiation stability and also highest possible normal-incidence reflectivity. A serious problem conventional high-reflective multilayers capped by silicon considerable degradation reflective properties due to carbonization oxidation surface layer under exposure EUV radiation. Ambient air pollution is recognized as a major risk factor for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) which the third leading cause of death worldwide. We examined whether variations in daily outdoor pollutants levels were associated with excess hospital emergency room visits (ERV) acute exacerbation COPD (AECOPD). This two-center ecological cohort study was conducted Amiens, France. collected all consecutive ERV AECOPD throughout 2017 and developed single pollutant models to assess...

Acute hypoxia has previously been suggested to potentiate resistance training-induced hypertrophy by activating satellite cell-dependent myogenesis rather than an improvement in protein balance human. Here, we tested this hypothesis after a 4-week hypoxic vs normoxic training protocol. For that purpose, 19 physically active male subjects were recruited perform 6 sets of 10 repetitions one-leg knee extension exercise at 80% 1-RM 3 times/week for 4 weeks normoxia (FiO2 : 0.21; n = 9) or 0.135,...
