THIS report presents the results of a fact-finding survey concerning uptake by thyroid tracer doses radioactive iodine mass 131, eight day half-life, during normal and disordered gland function in man. This type study is made possible inability animal human organisms to differentiate between several isotopes iodine. Thus are concentrated in, leave gland, same manner as stable form (1, 2). The natural disintegration material produces both gamma beta rays (3). absorbed within 2 millimeters...

IT IS WELL KNOWN that the thyroid gland takes up iodine (1). When radioactive isotopes of this element became available, tracer studies were carried out to discover what portion an administered amount lodged in gland, and remainder (2, 3). In first work, was mixed with a relatively large stable isotope .(carrier) , which competed form for utilization. It not possible administer much material without at same time using quantities larger than individual's normal daily requirement element....

Background Plaque neovascularization accompanies local inflammation and critically contributes to plaque instability. Correct identification of intraplaque by contrast–enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) may provide an additional risk marker in carotid stenosis. This pilot study investigates the correlation between histological evaluation specimens pre-surgery CEUS identify neovascularization. Methods 17 patients with high-grade internal artery (ICA) stenosis were studied. was performed all shortly...

On September 12, 2019 at 12:49:48 (UT) a bolide was observed by hundreds of eye-witnesses from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Denmark and UK. One day later small meteorite stone found accident in Flensburg. The presence short-lived cosmogenic radionuclides with half-lives as short 16 days proves recent exposure object to cosmic rays space linking it clearly event. Abstract. An extensive field campaign, the Ems-Dollard Measurements (EDoM), was executed in Ems Estuary, bordering Netherlands and Germany, aimed at better understanding mechanisms that drive exchange of water sediments between a relatively exposed outer estuary hyper-turbid tidal river. More specifically, reasons for large up-estuary sediment accumulation rates role river on turbidity were insufficiently understood. The campaign designed to unravel hydrodynamic sedimentary mechanisms,...

This paper investigates the importance of trust in international institutions for development tax morale by focussing on interactions between national government and European Union (EU) or United Nations (UN). Using large-scale survey data from countries, we provide evidence that all three variables are significantly related to individual level morale. Overall, results regarding EU UN very similar, while appears be main factor driving However, depending context, interacts differently with...

We tested the hypothesis that olfactory function is more impaired in patients with primary progressive MS (PPMS) than relapsing-remitting (RRMS).Standardized testing was performed 32 PPMS, RRMS, and healthy controls (HCs). Patients dysfunction due to an alternative etiology were excluded. The validated method yielded individual scores for threshold, odor discrimination, identification, along a composite Threshold Discrimination Identification (TDI) score.Olfactory identified 27 (84%) 10...

NEUROIMAGES Contrast-enhanced ultrasound and detection of carotid plaque neovascularizationA 62-year-old man was admitted after recurrent transient left-sided weakness sensory loss.Ultrasound (US) examination revealed a 70% narrowing the right proximal internal artery (ICA).Contrast-enhanced US suggested neovascularization (figure ,A).Carotid endarterectomy ICA performed.Immunohistochemistry specimen showed, corresponding to findings, extensive associated with dense macrophage infiltration...

Abstract 14 O ‐Ethyl‐5m‐ethylnaloxone ( 7 ) and ‐ethyl‐5‐methylnaltrexone 8 have been prepared starting from ‐ethyl‐5‐methyloxycodone 9 in several steps. Both, , were found to be opioid antagonists vitro vivo . Compound exhibited some selectivity for μ receptors, whereas compound did not show any of the receptor types. In AcOH‐writhing antagonism test, was able antagonize morphine‐induced antinociception, but antagonized fentanyl‐ sufentanil‐induced antinociception.
