Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a single-stranded RNA of positive polarity [ssRNA(+)] that replicates its genome through the activity one proteins, called NS5B. This viral protein responsible for copying positive-polarity into negative-polarity strand, which will be template new genomes. The NS5B phosphorylated by cellular kinases, including Akt.
