Gentamicin (GEN), a widely used broad-spectrum antibiotic, faces challenges amid the global emergency of antimicrobial resistance. This study aimed to explore synergistic effects zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) in combination with GEN on bactericidal activity against various bacterial strains. Results showed ZnO NPs MICs ranging from 0.002 1.5 μg/mL, while precursor salt displayed MIC range 48.75–1560 μg/mL. Chitosan (CS)-capped exhibited even lower than their uncapped counterparts,...
The intracellular concentration of rifampicin (RIF) loaded into chitosan (CS)/Tween 80 (T80)-coated alginate nanoparticles determined by a validated RP-HPLC method and fluorescence microscopy studies demonstrated that the promote cellular internalization RIF.
Carbamazepine (CBZ) was incorporated into layered double hydroxides (LDH) to be used as a controlled drug system in solid tumors. CBZ has formal charge of zero, so its incorporation the anionic clay implies challenge. Aiming overcome this problem, loaded LDH with sodium cholate (SC), surfactant negative and, for comparison, without SC by reconstruction method. Surprisingly, it found that both resultant nanocomposites had similar encapsulation efficiency, around 75%, and LDH-CBZ showed better...
Nanotechnology is a very promising technological tool to combat health problems associated with the loss of effectiveness currently used antibiotics. Previously, we developed formulation consisting chitosan and tween 80-decorated alginate nanocarrier that encapsulates rifampicin antioxidant ascorbic acid (RIF/ASC), intended for treatment respiratory intracellular infections. Here, investigated effects RIF/ASC-loaded NPs on mucus pulmonary surfactant. In addition, evaluated their cytotoxicity...
Current cancer chemotherapy is associated with many side effects and, in some cases, drug resistance, which makes the search for new active molecules and delivery strategies imperative. Carbamazepine an antiepileptic compound that has shown efficacy against breast cell lines. In this study, it was incorporated into layered double hydroxide nanoclays, percentage of loading increased compared to previous research, clays were impregnated magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The goal Fe3O4-impregnation...
Abstract Carbamazepine (CBZ) was incorporated into Layered Double Hydroxides (LDH) to be used as controlled drug delivery in solid tumors. CBZ has a formal charge of 0, which implies challenge the anionic clay. Aiming overcome this problem, first micelles sodium cholate (SC), surfactant with negative charge. SC and, for comparison, free were LDH by reconstruction method. It found that resultant nano-composites had similar encapsulation efficiency, around 75 %, but release simulated body...
