Type specimens carry valuable information that can facilitate biodiversity research, especially in an era of mass extinction and unprecedent anthropogenic climate change. For Orthoptera, a few initiatives, including the Orthoptera Species File digitization collections by numerous museums, have helped to make images about type available on World Wide Web. However, many local collections, those from poorly studied regions Southeast Asia, are still not public. The collection Grylloidea...

Nisitrus Saussure, 1878 is a diurnal and monophyletic group of eneopterine crickets found in parts Southeast Asia. Species often have vivid colourations which make them charismatic photograph subjects among macro photographers. However, their taxonomy has not been revised since original descriptions, whereas there are also species awaiting to be discovered described. A synoptic revision therefore needed prior studying the phylogenetic relationships genus, before undertaking more precise...
