Abstract Osteoarthritis (OA) is a progressive and irreversible degenerative joint disease that characterized by cartilage destruction, osteophyte formation, subchondral bone remodeling, synovitis. Despite affecting millions of patients, effective safe disease-modifying osteoarthritis drugs are lacking. Here we reveal an unexpected role for the small molecule 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA), which used as anti-inflammatory drug in ulcerative colitis. We show 5-ASA competes with...
Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a complex metabolic disorder with diverse spectrum. This study aimed to classify patients MASLD into molecular subtypes based on the underlying pathophysiology. Methods: We performed high-throughput RNA sequencing 164 tissue samples from healthy controls and MASLD. The clustering was individual genes or pathways that showed high variation across samples. Second, single-sample gene set enrichment analysis....
