ERAS protocols have revolutionized perioperative care by optimizing patient outcomes after major surgeries. Despite widespread recognition in various surgical specialties, the implementation of cardiac surgery remains relatively novel. This qualitative study employed semi-structured interviews to explore perspectives and experiences healthcare professionals involved implementation, focusing on identifying facilitators barriers. The data collected from was subjected content analysis identify...

Objective Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols aim to optimize the process for patients surgical interventions and focus on patient-centered care. In cardiac surgery, ERAS concept is still in its early stages. Our university hospital has implemented an innovative protocol minimally invasive heart valve since 2021. Therefore, our study aimed comprehensively assess patient experience within this newly established focused exploring understanding nuances of optimal healthcare...

6 patients with severe symptomatic diabetic gastroparesis were studied in a placebo-controlled randomized manner to establish if intravenous domperidone accelerates the delayed gastric emptying of semisolid homogenized meal. Domperidone, 10 mg intravenously, shortened half-time all significantly, but not healthy control subjects. These results suggest that may be potentially beneficial by improving emptying.

A case of colonic pneumatosis cystoides intestinales (PCI) which occurred three days after a routine colonoscopy is presented. review the literature revealed only two other cases PCI following colonoscopy. The close temporal association to supports mechanical hypothesis as probably mechanism leading intramural PCI.

Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols represent a paradigm shift in perioperative care, aim to optimize patient outcomes and accelerate recovery. This manual presents findings from implementing the INCREASE study, bicentric prospective randomized controlled trial focusing on ERAS minimally invasive heart valve surgery.

The implementation of ERAS represents a promising solution to improve treatment efficiency and facilitate patient involvement. This innovative care model aims optimize recovery processes following surgeries by adopting holistic, interprofessional approach. At our hospital, was implemented in minimally invasive heart valve surgery, offering two distinct models. Additionally, there is also the standard without ERAS. objective study gain insight into satisfaction perceived differences across...

In our long-term study of alcoholic chronic pancreatitis (median follow-up time, 10.4 years) 84 173 patients (48.6%) developed transient or persistent cholestasis with without hyperbilirubinemia. We studied the discriminative value ASAT/ALAT ratio to differentiate intrahepatic (IHC) and extrahepatic (EHC; due stenosis distal common bile duct) in 75 these patients. 45 recurrent (group A) cause was documented by accurate morphological methods. Thirty other 39 B) were classified on basis...

It is not rare that extrapulmonary complications and pneumonia dominate the clinical picture in infections with Mycoplasma pneumoniae, as illustrated by three cases. In first, a young woman developed an acute, but ultimately completely reversible, polyradiculitis after pneumonia. The second patient sustained thoracic transverse myelitis which regressed rapidly under treatment erythromycin prednisone. third one, was complicated generalized hypersensitivity vasculitis affecting many organs. A...
