Abstract Objectives Identify relevant gaps and suggest modifications to OEM Graduate Medical Education increase knowledge about potential climate change impacts, teach practical skills, promote actions protect workers. Methods ACOEM competencies were aligned the Global Consortium on Climate Health (GCCHE) physician competencies. ACGME milestones re-examined using a milestone curricular guide based peer-reviewed GCCHE Results Climate-change related skills are proposed for each core competency...

Rationale: The endocannabinoidome mediators, N -Oleoylglycine (OlGly) and -Oleoylalanine (OlAla), have been shown to reduce acute naloxone-precipitated morphine withdrawal affective somatic responses. Objectives: To determine the role mechanism of action OlGly OlAla in responses from chronic exposure opiates male Sprague-Dawley rats. Methods: Opiate was produced: 1) spontaneously 24 h following escalating doses over 14 days (Experiments 1 2) steady-state heroin by minipumps for 12...

Abstract Background Candida auris has become a growing concern worldwide because of increases in incidence colonization and reports invasive infections. There are limited data on clinical factors associated with poor outcomes patients C. bloodstream infection (BSI). Methods We assembled multicenter retrospective cohort BSI from 2 geographics areas US healthcare settings. collected demographic, clinical, microbiologic characteristics to describe the constructed multivariate logistic...

(1) Background: Intraperitoneal injections of the endogenous N-acyl amino acid N-Oleoyl alanine (OlAla) effectively reduces both affective and somatic responses produced by opioid withdrawal in preclinical models. To increase translational appeal OlAla clinical drug applications, current experiments tested whether oral pretreatment also attenuates rats. (2) Methods: In Experiment 1, to assess its impact on behavior, (0, 5, 20 mg/kg) was orally administered during conditioning phase an acute...

Despite improved life expectancy of people with HIV (PWH), HIV-associated neurocognitive impairment (NCI) persists, alongside deficits in sensorimotor gating and neuroinflammation. PWH exhibit high smoking rates, possibly due to neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, cognitive-enhancing effects nicotine, suggesting potential self-medication.

Objective: Determining neurobiological mechanisms underlying risk-taking behavior is paramount toward developing targeted therapeutics for psychiatric conditions with such behavioral deficits. Therapies are urgently needed given strongly linked to suicidal behavior. Risk-taking often assessed in tasks of varied rewards and losses, complicating the interpretation chasing vs. avoiding punishments. A novel task rats was designed which utilizes varying only, so as determine contributing...
