The DNA origami technology holds great promise for the assembly of nanoscopic technological devices and studies biochemical reactions at single-molecule level. For these, it is essential to establish well controlled attachment functional materials predefined sites on nanostructures reliable measurements versatile applications. However, two-sided nature scaffold has shown limitations in this regard. We hypothesized that holes commonly used two-dimensional designs are large enough passage...
Mechanistic understanding of how living systems sense, transduce, and respond to mechanical cues has important implications in development, physiology, therapy. Here, the authors use an integrated atomic force microscope (AFM) brightfield/epifluorescent platform precisely simulate single cells or groups under physiological conditions, real time, concomitantly measuring single-cell autophagic response its transmission neighboring cells. Dual-color fluorescence monitoring cellular reveals...
A unique operation mode of scanning polarization force microscopy (SPFM) was developed for characterizing reduced graphene oxide (rGO) sheets that were individually charged, mainly by monitoring the change sample's apparent height along with its surface potential. The principles and features this sample-charged SPFM (SC-SPFM) introduced. By comparing other scanning-probe based techniques characterize electrical properties, including traditional tip-biased SPFM, electrostatic microscopy,...
Well controlled cantilever oscillations are essential for precise measurements in dynamic force microscopy and spectroscopy, especially demanding conditions such as under solution or at high frequencies. Here, we show that, with a capacitive driving system, an externally introduced DC-bias significantly increases the efficiency air, well resonant frequencies, agreement theoretical predictions. This DC-voltage dependence not only improves robustness of method but also offers possibility...
The effect of liquid viscosity and density on the characteristics laterally excited microcantilevers is investigated compared to transversely microcantilevers. When immersed into a viscous medium such as water from air, resonant frequency (in-plane) vibrating shown decrease by only 5–10% ∼50% reduction for (out-of-plane) Furthermore, increases beam at slower rate than that beam. decreased damping also leads in quality factor system 4–5 beams transversely. mass sensitivities are theoretically...
Nanomanipulation of single DNA molecules has great potential in fundamental genetic research and clinical analysis, is a good model system for studying the interfacial effects on physiochemical processes, which occur when manipulating linear with an atomic force microscope (AFM) tip. Here, we demonstrate that AFM nanomanipulation can be carried out covered by single-layered reduced graphene oxide sheet. Nanomanipulation, includes cutting, pushing, sweeping operations, specific to achieved...
Takai proposed a method for constructing maximally permissive supervisor the similarity control problem (IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 66(7):3197-3204, 2021). This paper points out flaws in his results by providing counterexample. Inspired Takai's construction, notion of (saturated) (G, R)-automaton is introduced and metatheorems concerning (maximally permissive) supervisors are provided terms this notion. As an application these metatheorems, work corrected.
The resonant characteristics of laterally vibrating rectangular hammerhead microcantilevers in viscous liquid media are investigated. microcantilever is modeled as an Euler-Bernoulli beam (stem) and a rigid body (head). A modified semi-analytical expression for the hydrodynamic function terms Reynolds number, Re, aspect ratio, h/b, proposed to rapidly evaluate sensing characteristics. Using this expression, resonance frequency, quality factor normalized surface mass sensitivity investigated...
We propose and demonstrate a single-longitudinal mode (SLM) narrow linewidth broadband tunable Brillouin random laser, in which two segment dispersion compensated fibers (DCFs) are used, enough narrowband gain is provided by 2-km-length DCF to overcome the cavity loss, multiple Rayleigh backscattering (RBS) 1-km-length forms mirrorless open continuously compress laser linewidth. Compared ordinary single fibers, has an enhanced stimulated scattering coefficient RBS coefficient, attributed its...
A dual-pump Brillouin-erbium fiber laser is proposed to produce a relatively flat broadband Brillouin comb, in which the two beam of CW lights with different wavelength are simultaneously injected into double-ring cavity consisting sub-fiber loop (SFL) and main (MFC). part Stokes waves backward Rayleigh scattered (RS) pump (BP) generated from highly nonlinear (HNLF) MFC fed back through SFL form oscillations half-open cavity. Meanwhile, another RS BP HNLF generate oscillations. Moreover,...
As the social tagging systems becoming prevalent, it remains a critical question that how to make explicit semantics for tags fully facilitate Web2.0 applications. This paper establishes cluster tree based semantic similarity measure systems, combines with traditional statistics measures into hybrid one, tailors according effectiveness requirement of intelligent search application, and presents case study using empirical data retrieved from delicious website. Comparing measures, our is...
This study investigates the reduction in resolution of striations from center to edge through analysis imaging principle and static experimental test a streak tube. To improve spatial streak, we apply compressed sensing X-ray camera system construct (CS) reconstruction model for implement CS objective function by orthogonal matching method. The performance Gauss measurement matrix, Bernoulli M series family matrix are compared, parameters optimized. A comparison between original results...
