Abstract We profiled the serological responses to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) nucleocapsid (N) protein and spike (S) glycoprotein. The majority of patients developed robust antibody between 17 23 days after illness onset. Delayed, but stronger, were observed in critical patients.

Co-infections, secondary bacterial or fungal infections, are important risk factors for poor outcomes in viral infections. The prevalence of co-infection and infection patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 is not well understood. To investigate the role co-infections infections disease severity hospitalized individuals COVID-19.A retrospective study was carried out between 11 January 2020 1 March among 408 laboratory confirmed COVID-19 China. These were divided into three groups based on...

Humans and higher primates are unique in that they lack uricase, the enzyme capable of oxidizing uric acid. As a consequence this deficiency, humans have high serum acid levels. In some people, levels rise above solubility limit resulting crystallization joints, acute inflammation response to those crystals causes severe pain; condition known as gout. Treatment for gout includes injection non-human uricase reduce Krystexxa® is hyper-PEGylated pig-baboon chimeric indicated chronic refractory...

Background Tuberculosis (TB) remains a serious global public health problem. The Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is responsible for approximately 10 million new TB cases globally each year. This study aimed to investigate transmission pattern and drug resistance of MTB in Shenzhen, China. Methods A retrospective on 286 samples from 184 patients collected between 2015 2018 Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital was conducted using whole-genome sequencing. Drug susceptibility testing (DST)...

New solutions are needed to detect genotype-phenotype associations involved in microbial drug resistance. Herein, we describe a Group Association Model (GAM) that accurately identifies genetic variants linked resistance and mitigates false-positive cross-resistance artifacts without prior knowledge. GAM analysis of 7,179 Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) isolates gene targets for all analyzed drugs, revealing comparable performance but fewer than World Health Organization (WHO) mutation...

Abstract The commonly-used drug susceptibility testing (DST) relies on bacterial culture and faces shortcomings such as long turnaround time clone/subclone selection. We developed a targeted deep amplification sequencing (DAS) method directly applied to clinical specimens. In this DAS panel, we examined 941 drug-resistant mutations associated with 20 anti-tuberculosis drugs an initial amount of 4 pg DNA reduced from days two days. A prospective study was conducted using 115 specimens mainly...

Objective To construct the mutants of ARID1A gene, which is an important component in human chromosomal remodeling complex Switch/Sucrose Non Fermentable (SWI/SNF), and identify their overexpression liver cancer HepG2 cells. Methods Overlap PCR was used to domain truncated mutantss pcDNA6-ARID1A/ΔARID pcDNA6-ARID1A/ΔD UF3518 based on wild type plasmids pcDNA6-ARID1A. Lipofectionmethod transfect into HepG2. Real-time western blotting were confirm mutants. Results SDS-PAGE...
