Cellular immune responses were studied in 35 Brazilian patients with either active cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL), mucosal (ML), or healed leishmaniasis. The mean age and duration of illness the two groups as follows: 14 CL patients, 28 +/- 13 yr, disease 5 mo; 16 ML 34 15 86 117 mo. Patients responded well to leishmania antigen blastogenesis assays. However, response was over three times greater than patients. There a significant correlation between magnitude lymphoproliferative activity. no...

We investigate anomalous spin and orbital Hall phenomena in antiferromagnetic materials via pumping experiments. Conducting experiments on YIG/Pt/Ir_{20}Mn_{80} heterostructures, we unexpectedly observe strong signals an out-of-plane configuration. report a sevenfold increase the signal of inverse effect compared to conventional effects. Our study suggests expanding angle (θ_{OH}) rank 3 tensor, akin (θ_{SH}), explain effect. This work pioneers converting spin-orbital currents into charge...

Storage-body diameter and volume, the number of molecules serotonin contained in a storage body, were estimated for blood platelets. In human, 5.23 x 10(5) are body 198 nanometers diameter, while cat, 31.2 this amine 298 diameter.

The intracellular distribution of fluorine has been delineated in human platelets incubated with 4,6-difluoroserotonin, utilizing a scanning-transmission electron microscope equipped an energy-loss spectrometer. Discrete structures corresponding location to dense bodies contained high concentrations fluorine. Electron spectroscopy, which apparently can detect less than 10 -20 gram area square nanometers, thus localize fluorinated tracer molecules biological activity.

Improved image quality in soft x-ray contact microscopy can be obtained by examining the resist with transmission rather than scanning electron microscopy. Application of new technique to air-dried preparations human blood platelets reveals structures not visible same cells or when is examined As seen technique, platelet pseudopods contain a central structure connected network and dense bodies exhibit lamellar structure.

Our investigation reveals a groundbreaking discovery of negative inverse orbital Hall effect (IOHE) in Ge thin films. We employed the spin pumping technique where spin-orbital coupled current is injected into films using YIG/Pt(2)/Ge(tGe) and YIG/W(2)/Ge(tGe) heterostructures. Through comprehensive analysis, we observe significant reductions signals generated by coherent (rf-driven) incoherent (thermal-driven) techniques. These are attributed to presence remarkably strong IOHE Ge, showing...

1. Distributions of dense bodies per platelet were evaluated in unstimulated human platelets and stimulated to secrete by the addition varying amounts thrombin or ionophore A23187. Since distributions not Gaussian, they compared non-parametric methods. 2. Most distribution obtained following levels dense-body release differed significantly from control (unstimulated) distribution. In general, points widely separated terms cent total content also significantly. at where number lost was...

A variety of electronmicroscope techniques have been used to examine how the air-drying process may affect dense bodies in whole mounts platelets. (a) Selected-area-diffraction and electron microprobe studies suggest that can result formation crystalline precipitates sodium chloride on grid films However, no crystals were detected calcium-and-phosphorus-containing matrix bodies. (b) Tilting show human platelets are spherical or ellipsoidal shape. Dense rabbit platelets, contrast, appear...
