Olive mill wastewater (OMWW), with its high level of phenolic compounds, simultaneously represents a serious environmental challenge and great resource potential nutraceutical activities. To increase the knowledge OMWW's biological effects, an aim to developing food supplement, we performed chemical characterisation extract using Liquid Chromatography-Quadrupole Time-of-flight spectrometry (LC-QTOF) in vitro genotoxicity/antigenotoxicity assessment on HepaRG ™ cells. Chemical analysis...
Pharmacological inhibition of Phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) proved its efficacy treating several pathological conditions, such as erectile dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension. Nowadays, benefits on cardiovascular diseases are well documented, particularly in the treatment 2 diabetes (T2DM)-related complications. In this context, T2DM with PDE5 inhibitors, sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil ameliorates endothelial both patients animal models through an augmented flow mediated dilation...
We have used near-infrared spectroscopy to measure the hemoglobin saturation at rest and during exercise on patients affected by peripheral vascular disease (PVD). The instrument in our study is a frequency-domain tissue oximeter which employs intensity modulated (110 MHz) laser diodes. examined 9 subjects, 3 of were controls 6 stage II PVD. optical probe was located calf muscle subjects. measurement protocol consisted of: (1) baseline (approximately 5 min); (2) stationary bicycle (3)...
