Selective actinide coordination (from lanthanides) is critical for both nuclear waste management and sustainable development of power. Hydrophilic ligands used as masking agents to withhold actinides in the aqueous phase are currently highly pursued, while synthetic accessibility, water solubility, acid resistance, extraction capability remaining problems. Most reported hydrophilic only effective at low acidity. We recently proved that phenanthroline diimide skeleton was an efficient...

Hydrophilic actinide masking agents are believed to be efficient alternatives circumvent the extensive hazardous organic solvents/diluents typically employed in liquid-liquid extraction for nuclear waste management. However, practical application of hydrophilic ligands faces significant challenges both synthetic/purification procedures and, more importantly, acid resistance themselves. Herein, we have demonstrated combination phenanthroline diimide framework with a biomotif histidine...

Objective: To investigate the levels of lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, and neodymium in blood, urine, hair samples from residents rare earth mining area a city China, to provide scientific basis for control pollution protection population health. Methods: A total 147 who had lived long time were selected as exposure group, 108 Guyang County this 91 km away group. Blood, collected both groups. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was used determine content samples. Results: In...

We have investigated the electronic and magnetic properties of GaC 1-x Mn 3 (x = 0, 0.125, 0.25) using first-principles density functional theory within generalized gradient approximation (GGA) + U schemes. The crystal structures compounds are cubic for x 0.25. lattice parameters unit cell volume decrease as C vacancy increase. Our spin polarized calculations give metallic ground state structure 0.125 antiferromagnetic, while 0.25 it is ferromagnetic. From states (DOS), hybridization between...
