The rapid production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is a key signaling output in plant immunity. In the angiosperm model Arabidopsis thaliana (hereafter Arabidopsis), recognition non- or altered-self elicitor patterns by cell-surface immune receptors activates receptor-like cytoplasmic kinases (RLCKs) AVRPPHB SUSCEPTIBLE 1 (PBS1)-like (PBL) family, particularly BOTRYTIS-INDUCED KINASE1 (BIK1).1Lu D. The effect of cropping system on the distribution organic carbon (OC) and nitrogen (N) in soil aggregates has not been well addressed, which is important for understanding sequestration OC N agricultural soils. We analyzed associated with three unfertilized systems a 27-year field experiment: continuously cropped alfalfa, wheat legume-grain rotation. objectives were to understand examine relationships between changes stocks total soils aggregates. increased (0-40 cm) at mean rates 15.6 g m-2...

Calcium-dependent protein kinases (CDPKs or CPKs) are a unique family of Ca2+-regulated with diverse functions in plants. CPK28 regulates immune homeostasis, stress responses, and growth multiple angiosperms including tomato, rice, cotton, Arabidopsis thaliana (hereafter, Arabidopsis). In Arabidopsis, phosphorylates activates the E3 ubiquitin ligases PLANT U-BOX 25 (PUB25) PUB26 that target major signaling BOTRYTIS-INDUCED KINASE 1 (BIK1), resulting its turnover. The CPK28-PUB25/26-BIK1...

Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heyhn. is a well known model plant in research. However, its growth conditions and diminutive stature associated with low biomass at maturity make it challenging species for physiological studies. While the tropical countries, can only be grown either by tissue cultures or chambers under controlled conditions. An aeroponic technique 20°C ± 2°C 30°C ± root-zone temperatures (RZT) was used to grow (Columbia ecotype) a tropical greenhouse natural irradiance high...

This study examined the modifications made to root system architecture of Arabidopsis thaliana when subjected an increase in population (biotic) and a decrease nutrient concentration (abiotic). Population density was found have significant effect on number hairs (p 0.05). work could serve as guideline considering sowing fertilizer application other crop species.

Abstract BackgroundAtCYP38, a thylakoid lumen localized immunophilin, is essential for photosystem II (PSII) assembly and maintenance, but how AtCYP38 functions in chloroplast remains unknown. Based on previous functional studies its crystal structure, we hypothesize that should function via binding targets or cofactors the to influence PSII performance. Therefore, identifying target proteins would be key step understand working mechanism of AtCYP38.ResultsTo identify potential interacting...
