Abstract This study introduces an efficient and precise method for gathering atmospheric wind field data in specific regions, utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with anemometers. We conducted outdoor measurements over complex terrains using a six-rotor UAV ultrasonic anemometer. The results obtained include vertical profile at the center of measured site, along two planar profiles 20 m 40 heights. analysis reveals remarkably high fitting accuracy turbulence intensity...
An innovative approach for measuring wind fields in urban building clusters using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is presented. This method captures the distribution of within clusters. The results indicate that architecture has a significant influence on flow characteristics at 15 m and 25 height levels. Particularly, areas adjacent to buildings wake section exhibit notable variations speed turbulence intensity compared incoming flow. regions most affected include flanking either side...
In aeolian sand movement, the vertical distribution of particle size is intricately linked to flux, wind–sand flow field and dune development. present study, characteristics grains in four ranges at nine heights were investigated through blowing tests five different reference wind speeds. The correlation between speed indicates that when was ≥0.35 mm, there a linear variation mass percentage with speed. When <0.35 Z ≤ 0.15 m, found; > an exponential modification velocity observed for...
Abstract Utilizing P b (Z r T i )O 3 -5 A piezoelectric ceramic (hereafter referred to as PZT-5 A) sensors, we studied the movement speed of sand particles in multiphase wind-sand flows. We developed a mathematical model that effectively links impact force grains with output voltage A, incorporating factors such coefficient and particle characteristics. Additionally, proposed new method accurately determine elastic recovery using PZT-5A sensor measurements experimental setups, which is...
They studied the feasibility of boundary layer wind field measurement based on a six-rotor drone equipped with an anemometer, and analyzed measured characteristics including average speed, direction, turbulence intensity, gust factor, integral length power spectrum. The results are compared anemometers fixed tower. show that speed direction values by UAV basically same as tower after correction, error between two is within ±3%. accuracy fitted profile high. close to B-type geomorphic...
