Fifty one products of dried milk baby food purchased from 10 producers seven countries available on the Czech market have been tested. IS900, specific fragments for Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) detected using PCR in 25 samples (49.0 %) and fragment f57 by real time 18 (35.3%). These results correspond to epidemiological situation Europe are not unexpected. Paratuberculosis cattle was almost unknown Republic until 1990. An increase number cows with found slaughterhouses...

Sources of mycobacterial infections in 50 pig herds the Czech Republicwere investigated during years 1996 to 2002. A total 2 412 samples from external environment (feeds, bedding materials, drinking water, biofilms on drinkers, scrapings walls, floors and pen barriers, dust, spider webs, peat, kaolin, faeces, organs rodents, birds, etc.) were examined. After staining by Ziehl-Neelsen technique, acid-fast rods detected 95 (3.9%) direct microscopic examination mycobacteria cultured 575 (23.8%)...

Granulomas diagnosed in 44 (62.9%) fish. From these, acid fast rods (AFR) found 29 (65.9%) by staining according to Ziehl-Neelsen (Z-N). remaining 26 (37.1%) without lesions, AFR was microscopically proven 3 (11.5%) second direct microscopic examinations according Z-N and culture mycobacteria carried out 17 randomly...

Molecular biology methods offer new opportunities to differentiate, identify and type bacterial species strains. These use the variability of nucleic sequences genes such as 16S rDNA, beta subunit RNA-ase (rpoB), gyrase (gyrB), rDNA internal transcribed spacer other genes. The aim this paper is provide comprehensive information about available differentiate mycobacteria at DNA sequence level. discussed in review include PCR, PCR-REA, sequencing analysis, spoligotyping fingerprinting. have...

Spoligotyping was used to examine IS6110-positive DNA of 26 Mycobacterium bovis, M. bovis BCG and subsp. caprae non-viable isolates stored up 10 years. All these were previously identified by biochemical tests all 17/17 tested earlier found virulent for guinea pigs. In total seven spoligotypes, designated S1-S7, detected compared with the spoligotypes 3 176 in database National Institute Public Health Environment (RIVM) Bilthoven, Netherlands. The last outbreak of bovine tuberculosis in cattle the CzechRepublic was detected 1995. Signs diarrhoea, weight loss and occasional coughing appeared one 14-year-old cow after giving birth for thirteenth time. Two months these symptoms had been observed, it to be slaughtered numerous tuberculous lesions were found its lung tissue, including pleura. Within three confirmation infection consecutive intra-vitam post-mortem diagnostics, all 28 remaining head from herd (nine cows, seven bulls, six...

The presence of mycobacteria was studied in Bull Rock Cave ("Byci skala") and the water catchment area Jedovnice Brook ("Jedovnicky potok") using direct microscopy after Ziehl-Neelsen (ZN) staining, culture examination molecular techniques. Mycobacteria were detected 47.1% a total 68 samples. mycobacterial genes hsp65 dnaA sequenced 37 (74.0%) out 50 cave environmental samples 10 (55.6%) 18 sediments. Summary A total of 24 Pasteurella multocida rabbit isolates obtained from flocks in the Czech Republic during period between 2001 and 2004 were analysed by capsular PCR typing. Apart identified as serogroups ( n = 14, 58.4%) D 2, 8.3%), eight (33.3%) members serogroup F. This had been predominantly associated with poultry infections so far. The F characterized detail ribotyping restriction to endonuclease Msp I revealing two distinct ribotypes. Seven assigned ribotype 1 one isolate was 2.

In Norway, paratuberculosis has been frequently diagnosed in goats, while cattle have almost free of the infection. This difference prevalence between goats and led to speculations about existence a Mycobacterium avium subsp. (M. a. paratuberculosis) isolate that is non-pathogenic for cattle. There little information available on genotypic variation M. isolated from animals Norway. present study, 51 isolates four Norway was obtained by use IS900 restriction fragment length polymorphism...
