Background Two types of atopic dermatitis (AD) have been proposed, with different pathophysiological mechanisms underlying this seemingly heterogeneous disorder. The extrinsic type shows high IgE levels presumably as a consequence skin barrier damage and feasible allergen permeation, whereas the intrinsic exhibits normal is not mediated by allergen-specific IgE. Objectives To investigate relationship between pruritus perception threshold function patients AD in comparison types. Methods...
Gametes of the unicellular green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii undergo sexual adhesion via enormous chimeric Hyp-rich glycoproteins (HRGPs), plus and minus agglutinins, that are displayed on their flagellar membrane surfaces. We have previously purified agglutinins analyzed structural organization using electron microscopy. report here cloning sequencing Sag1 Sad1 genes encode two relate derived amino acid sequences predicted secondary structure to morphology proteins. Both agglutinin...
Abstract Acne is a common skin disease that involves the seborrheic area of face and results from obstruction hair follicles followed by inflammation. Careful washing helps to improve prevent acne; however, intensive has risk inducing barrier impairment dry skin, especially in sensitive skin. We hypothesized care combining mild cleansing moisturizing (“combination care”) may be effective acne subjects with and/or developed combination weakly acidic foaming facial cleanser based on detergent,...
Structural and optical anisotropies have been investigated in some chalcogenide glasses exposed to illumination of linearly polarized light. X-ray diffraction patterns illuminated ${\mathrm{As}}_{2}$${\mathrm{S}}_{3}$ manifest a structural modification at \ensuremath{\sim}1 A${\mathrm{\r{}}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$. Photoinduced birefringence becomes maximal temperature, which is higher for with lower photon energy. The photoinduced greater the order...
Birefringence can be induced in Se films photocrystallized by linearly polarized light at \ensuremath{\sim}350 K. The birefringence reaches \ensuremath{\sim}0.1, which is approximately 1/10 of that the hexagonal Se. X-ray-diffraction investigations suggest photothermally caused alignment chain molecules.
The role of albumin in osteoblastic cells was investigated. Osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 with subconfluent monolayers were cultured for 24 to 72 h a medium without fetal bovine serum (FBS) the presence or absence (0.25, 0.5, 1.0 mg/ml medium). number significantly increased by culture (1.0 mg/ml). effect increasing cell completely abolished PD98049 (10(-7) M), staurosporine dibucaine which is an inhibitor various protein kinases. Also, stimulating on proliferation prevented cycloheximide synthesis,...
Background . Diaper rash, also known as diaper dermatitis (DD), is a very common skin condition in infants, and use of disposable diapers with breathable materials an effective approach for the management rash. In China, new material standard are currently two most commonly used diapers. This study aimed to compare effectiveness versus prevention rash Chinese babies. Methods A total 80 eligible babies admitted Shanghai Skin Diseases Hospital during period from June through July, 2016, were...
The expression of albumin in bone-related cells was investigated. Bone marrow and femoral-diaphyseal -metaphyseal tissues were obtained from normal rat femur. Western blot analysis for protein the lysate bone showed albumin. production found When cultured 48 h a serum-free medium vitro, greatly released into culture tissues. osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 investigated by analysis. Osteoblastic containing either vehicle, parathyroid hormone (1-34) (human PTH; 10(-7) M), 17beta-estradiol (10(-9)...
Many people use lip care products daily to prevent dry lips. However, some people, especially those with sensitive skin-consciousness, complain of various skin problems on their lips including contact dermatitis caused by products. Dry have decreased water holding capacity and cutaneous barrier function as well reduced stratum corneum ceramide levels. In this study, we investigated the usefulness a newly formulated balm containing pseudo-ceramide for subjects skin.Thirty skin-consciousness...
δ-Aminolevulinic acid (δ-ALA) synthases from Protaminobacter ruber and Rhodopseudomonas spheroides were highly purified characterized. The molecular weights of the δ-ALA P. R. estimated to be 97, 000 87, 000, respectively. optimum pH was about 8.0 for both enzymes. ruber-enzyme showed Kms 1.05mM glycine 0.77μM pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (PLP), while spheroides-enzyme 8.33mM 15μM PLP. less stable during storage at 4°C or 37°C than spheroides-enzyme. As effects end-products, not inhibited by...
Many people feel frequent prickling or itching sensations on their scalp. The scalp is an atypical area of the skin since it normally covered with thick hair and has many sebaceous glands sweat glands. often problems that can affect its sensitivity functions. However, not much known about stratum corneum function neural Here we evaluated 47 normal male individuals in various conditions compared results to forehead. was by measuring electrical current perception threshold (CPT). cutaneous...
The C-terminal domain of pherophorin II is homologous to the sexual pheromone Volvox carteri and released from other domains during induction. Green fluorescent protein fused C terminus was located at extracellular matrix directly surrounding gonidium, final target sexual-induction signal.
Hairdressers are exposed to numerous skin-damaging factors, such as wet work, skin irritants, and thermal changes. Skin protection is a very important factor for the prevention of occupational disorders. Therefore, we evaluated hand cream that was specially formulated highly stressed with regard its capability reduce dry, rough, scaly skin. The objective this study conduct controlled use test barrier repair containing pseudo-ceramide demonstrate efficacy hairdressers sensitive hands and/or A...
In addition to the α-ALA synthase already reported (Fraction I: molecular weight, 100, 000; optimal pH, ca. 8.0), an isozyme II: 64, 6.4) was found in Protaminobacter ruber grown dark after initial light period (20-30hr). The fraction I- and II-enzymes were separable by gel-filtration through Sepharose 6B. While former formed constitutively, latter inducibly under conditions for bacteriochlorophyll formation. Therefore, II-isozyme seems be responsible biosynthesis of bacteriochlorophyll.
