Two current meter moorings were deployed from the R/V Marion Dufresne in March 1992 between Roti Island and Ashmore Reef recovered April 1993 onboard Baruna Jaya 1 . The mean transport was estimated 3.4 5.3 Sv (1 = 10 6 m 3 /s) for Pacific water flowing toward Indian Ocean through Timor Passage. upper part of transport, surface to 500 m, shows a weak maximum during southwest monsoon. An unexpected deep flow 1550 brings an important contribution total which is minimum August–September. As...
For the dynamic balance of world ocean circulation, flow through Indonesian archipelago needs to be quantified. Part Java Australia Dynamic Experiment program was occupy hydrographic sections during two opposite seasons. Here we present and discuss February 1992 geostrophic estimate throughflow. The appearance east‐flowing Current, flowing in 80 km off coast, led a net total transport few 10 6 m 3 s −1 eastward, expected sense transport. Uncertainty this transport, estimated from repeated...
Geostrophic currents and transports in the boundary near Madagascar are described for a section at 23°S off east coast 12°S to northeast of Cape Amber. These results based on conductivity‐temperature‐depth expendable bathythermograph sections made during cruises Marion Dufresne 1984, 1985, 1986, supplemented by those historical data that were sufficiently deep. The reference levels used 1100 dbar 1170 23°S, from 11 months current meter records obtained 1984–1985. Comparisons between...
Moored current measurements of 11‐month duration were carried out in the boundary currents east Madagascar, near 12°S at Cape Amber where mean flows northwestward and 23°S approximately southward. Transports derived from moored depth range 150–1100 m compare reasonably well with those ship sections by Swallow et al. (this issue). At 12°S, very energetic transport variations occur 40‐ to 55‐day‐period band, contributing about 40% total variance, while band fluctuations contribute only 15%...
Aims Salivary gland neoplasms (SGN) exhibiting the HMGA2 :: WIF1 fusion are recognized by their resemblance to histology found in canalicular adenoma. Recently, ~20% of cases among 28 ‐rearranged‐SGN showed malignancy and adverse outcomes (recurrence, distant metastasis, disease‐specific mortality). Among them, MDM2/CDK4 amplifications were identified one case. This outcome suggests that could be useful predict an aggressive course carcinoma ex‐pleomorphic adenoma (CEPA). Methods Results We...
The East African Coastal Current (EACC) runs northward throughout the year between latitudes 11°S and 3°S, with surface speeds exceeding 1 m s −1 in northern summer. Mean transport from five sections near 4°–5°S is 19.9 Sv (1 ≡ 10 6 3 ) upper 500 dbar, out to 120 km offshore. Below that, 1000 there appears be a weak variable of order Sv. Comparing transports EACC those boundary current north Madagascar, it seems that most water 300 dbar branch South Equatorial goes into EACC. an excess...
The time and type of onset the southwest monsoon over Arabian Sea is studied using ship reports surface wind tabulated by 1° squares daily along two densely occupied shipping lanes. It found that several types occur, mean onset, suitably defined, changes very little from year to year.
ABSTRACT Background Steroid rinses and steroid‐eluting stents are both options for preventing postoperative stenosis after frontal sinus surgery. This study aimed to assess whether offer added benefit over steroid alone in healing long‐term patency. Methods A randomized controlled trial enrolled patients with CRS nasal polyps (CRSwNP) who underwent surgery bilateral equal sinusitis failing prior medical therapy. Each patient served as their own control, each stent placement either right or...
ABSTRACT Background We developed and assessed the performance of a machine learning model (MLM) to identify, classify, segment sinonasal masses based on endoscopic appearance. Methods A convolutional neural network‐based was constructed from nasal endoscopy images patients evaluated at an otolaryngology center between 2013 2024. Images were classified into four groups: normal endoscopy, polyps, benign, malignant tumors. Polyps tumors confirmed with histopathological diagnosis. annotated by...
