Abstract Pericytes are believed to originate from either mesenchymal or neural crest cells. It has recently been reported that pericytes play important roles in the central nervous system (CNS) by regulating blood-brain barrier homeostasis and blood flow at capillary level. However, origin of CNS microvascular mechanism their recruitment remain unknown. Here, we show a new source cerebrovascular during neurogenesis. In embryonic day 10.5 mouse embryos, CD31 + F4/80 hematopoietic lineage...

Two new quinochalcone C-glycosides, hydroxysafflor yellow A (1a) and tinctormine (2a), were isolated from Carthamus tinctorius L. (Compositae) together with carthamin, safflor B safflomin C. The structures of 1a 2a have been determined by spectroscopic methods including heteronuclear multiple-bond multiple-quantum coherence linked scan FAB-MS. latter compound (2a) was demonstrated to potent Ca2+ antagonistic action.

The use of glucocorticoids for treatment sepsis has waxed and waned during the past several decades, recent randomized controlled trials have evoked a reassessment this therapy. Most glucocorticoid actions are mediated by its specific intracellular receptors (GRs). Thus we initially evaluated whether high-dose corticosteroid therapy can regulate guinea pig pulmonary expression GRs: active receptor, GRα, dominant negative GRβ. Smooth muscle cells from the rabbit esophageal muscularis mucosae were studied for presence of ATP-sensitive K+ channel (KATP) and its inhibition by carbachol.
