Abstract Background Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease. Cartilage degeneration the earliest and most important pathological change in osteoarthritis, persistent inflammation one of driving factors cartilage degeneration. Cucurbitacin E, an isolated compound family, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, but its role mechanism osteoarthritic chondrocytes are unclear. Methods For vitro experiments, human were stimulated with IL-1β, expression inflammatory genes was...

Cell division cycle associated 5 (CDCA5) is implicated in the development and progression of a variety human cancers. Functional significance CDCA5 colorectal cancer (CRC), however, has not been investigated. Using combination on-line data mining, biochemistry, molecular biology, we examined potential oncogenic activity underlying mechanisms. Experiments with tissue sample showed increased expression CRC vs. noncancerous adjacent tissue, association upregulation tissues shorter patient...

Abstract Faba bean ( Vicia faba L.) is an important food legume crop. Salinity soils severely constrain the production of bean, however, seed germination which a vital plant growth stage, sensitive to salinity. Planting improved varieties exhibit salt tolerance in optimal strategy for product. To investigate genes dynamics during stage under salinity, RNA-seq method was used genome-wide transcription profiles two with contrast salt-tolerance germination. A total 4,486 differentially...

Abstract Backgrounds Abnormal cartilage calcification is one of the pathological changes temporomandibular joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis (OA). Recent studies have reported that exosomes can regulate formation abnormal calcified nodules in diseases including atherosclerosis and chronic kidney disease. However, influences chondrocyte-derived on TMJ OA are still unclear. Methods was induced by unilateral anterior crossbite (UAC) for 4, 8, or 12 weeks rats to observe condylar exosome formation....

Environmental Context.Secondary processes leading to the production of ultra-fine particles by nucleation are still poorly understood. A fraction new formed can grow into radiatively active sizes, where they directly scatter incoming solar radiation and, if partly water soluble, contribute cloud condensation nuclei population. New particle formation events have been frequently observed at Mace Head Atmospheric Research Station (western Ireland), under low tide and sunny conditions,...

Recent studies have indicated that the inflammatory microenvironment plays a significant role in colorectal cancer (CRC). The interleukin‑6/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (IL‑6/STAT3) signaling pathway mediates proliferative anti‑apoptotic activities required for oncogenesis under conditions; thus, suppressing tumor growth by targeting IL‑6/STAT3 is promising therapeutic strategy CRC. Our previous study reported ethanol extract obtained from Hedyotis diffusa Willd....

Objective: Compound Kushen injection (CKI), one of the commonly used antitumor Chinese patent medicines, has been widely prescribed as adjunctive treatment to platinum-based chemotherapy (PBC) in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, efficacy and safety this combination therapy for NSCLC remain controversial. The objective study is evaluate effects CKI combined PBC on stage III/IV cancer. Methods: A systematic review meta-analysis were performed following PRISMA...

Lipid metabolism is closely related to obesity and its complications. Our previous study found that ginsenoside Rk3 (Rk3), a natural bioactive substance derived from ginseng, can effectively alleviate obesity-induced colitis, while impact on the improvement of lipid disorder remains unclear. Here, we demonstrated significantly alleviated inflammation, oxidative stress, dysregulation in high-fat diet-induced colitis C57BL/6 mice.
