In the present study, anti-atherosclerotic effect and underlying mechanism of curcuma oil (C. oil), a lipophilic fraction from turmeric ( Curcuma longa L.), was evaluated in hamster model accelerated atherosclerosis THP-1 macrophages. Male golden Syrian hamsters were subjected to partial carotid ligation (PCL) or FeCl 3 -induced arterial oxidative injury (Ox-injury) after 1 week treatment with high-cholesterol (HC) diet HC plus C. (100 300 mg/kg, orally). Hamsters fed analysed at 1, 5 weeks...

Background: Globally, colorectal cancer (CRC) rates are on the rise. This trend is also observed in middle- and lowincome nations, attributed to their expanding populations adoption of Western dietary habits lifestyles. Methods: The study encompassed all CRC cases diagnosed at IGMC, Shimla (the sole tertiary care facility Himachal Pradesh, India) from January 2017 December 2018. Data clinical features, pathology, treatment protocols were documented. Results: included 165 patients, with a...

ABSTRACT Compared to the adult literature, there are few enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols standardized in pediatric population. The objective of current study is determine if implementation an ERAS protocol would improve patient outcomes ambulatory urologic A retrospective analysis was performed on patients who underwent procedures (circumcision, orchiopexy, hypospadias correction, and urethroplasty) surgical setting affiliated with a tertiary hospital. Outcomes measured...

The present study investigated plant extracts for their anti-quorum-sensing (QS) potential to inhibit the biofilm formation in Cronobacter sakazakii strains. bioassay based on loss of pigment production by Chromobacterium violaceum 026 and Agrobacterium tumefaciens NTL4(pZLR4) was used initial screening extracts. Further, effect inhibition QS-mediated C. isolates evaluated using standard crystal violet assay. texture studied SYTO9 staining light scanning electron microscopy. Among tested...

Bacterial biofilms are dynamic, complex, and very adaptive, they can cause health problems in both humans animals while also posing a serious threat to various industries. This study explores the potential of cell-free preparations lactobacilli isolated from breast milk (HM; n = 11) infant fecal (IF; 15) samples impact growth Staphylococcus aureus Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms. The anti-biofilm activity three distinct preparations, namely, untreated supernatant (CFS), pH-neutralized CFS...

Invasion of human erythrocytes by Plasmodium falciparum merozoites involves multiple interactions between host receptors and their merozoite ligands. Here we report Cyclophilin B as a receptor for PfRhopH3 during invasion. Localization binding studies show that is present on the binds strongly to merozoites. We demonstrate RBCs treatment with Cyclosporin A prevents also multi-protein complex involving Basigin, well PfRh5 aids Furthermore, identification de novo peptide CDP3 blocks invasion...

The present study investigates the role of quorum sensing (QS) molecules expressed by C. sakazakii in biofilm formation and extracellular polysaccharide expression. QS signaling was detected using Chromobacterium violaceum 026 Agrobacterium tumefaciens NTL4(pZLR4) based bioassay. Long chain N-acyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs) with C6- C18 length were identified High Performance Liquid Chromatography Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry. Abstract Hijacking of host metabolic status by a pathogen for its regulated dissemination from the is prerequisite propagation infection. M. tuberculosis secretes an NAD + -glycohydrolase, TNT, to induce necroptosis hydrolyzing Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD ). Herein, we expressed TNT in macrophages and erythrocytes; cells malaria parasite respectively, found that it reduced levels thereby induced eryptosis resulting premature pathogen. Targeting or interferes with reduction...

The emergence of Plasmodium falciparum resistance raises an urgent need to find new antimalarial drugs. Here, we report the rational repurposing anti-hepatitis C virus drug, alisporivir, a nonimmunosuppressive analog cyclosporin A, against artemisinin-resistant strains P. . In silico docking studies and molecular dynamic simulation predicted strong interaction alisporivir with Pf Cyclophilin 19B, confirmed through biophysical assays K d value 354.3 nM.
