Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous endocrine disorder accompanied with an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease; despite being common condition, the pathogenesis PCOS remains unclear. Our aim was to investigate potential metabolic profiles for different phenotypes PCOS, as well early prognosis complications.A total 217 women 48 healthy normal controls were studied. Plasma samples subjects tested using two analytical platforms...
The functions of platelets and fibrinogen in protecting tumor cells from natural killer cytotoxicity have been discussed for more than 20 years. However, their exact roles relationships the process are still not clear. In this study, we show that prefer to adhere platelets, can enhance adhesion platelets. Beta3 integrin plays an important role B16F10 enhanced by fibrinogen. presence thrombin, forms dense fibrin(ogen) layers around cells. Tumor induce aggregate form thrombin. Platelets, as...

Abstract Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) poses a significant threat as devastating pathogen to the global production and quality of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). Mining novel resistance genes within germplasm is an effective environmentally friendly approach combat TSWV. In this study, we investigated mechanisms underlying high TSWV in specific line after experimental inoculation, despite not possessing any known genes. The candidate causal disease traits were finely mapped by constructing...
The aim of this study is to characterize the serum metabolic profiles patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) using metabolomics.Serum samples were collected from SLE (n = 80) and gender- age-matched healthy controls 57). Metabolite performed gas chromatography-mass spectrometry in conjunction multivariate statistical analysis, possible biomarker metabolites identified.SLE disease severity-related phenotypes identified sera. Parameters metabolomic model correlated SLEDAI (SLE...
MICA/B are major ligands for NK cell activating receptor NKG2D and previous studies showed that the serum level of soluble MICA (sMICA) is an independent prognostic factor advanced human hepatocellular carcinoma. However, correlation between cellular expression pattern carcinoma progression has not been well explored. The unfolded protein response one main causes resistance to chemotherapy radiotherapy in tumor cells. whether UPR HCC could regulate levels affect sensitivity cells cytolysis...
Owing to excellent therapeutic potential, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are gaining increasing popularity with researchers worldwide for applications in tissue engineering, and treatment of inflammation-related age-related disorders. However, the senescence MSCs over passaging has limited their clinical application owing adverse effect on physiological function maintenance tissues as well disease treatment. An inflammatory microenvironment is one key contributors MSC senescence, resulting...
Abstract Context Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is accompanied by chronic inflammation and metabolic disorders. Whether abnormalities affect in PCOS or not, the underlying mechanism remains to be clarified. Objective We aimed investigate changes fatty acids their effects on inflammatory response follicular niche of patients. Methods This study recruited 50 patients age-matched controls for fluids ovarian mural granulosa cells collection. The human cell line KGN was used evaluating effect...
Adverse remodeling after myocardial infarction (MI) result in heart failure and sudden cardiac death. Fibulin7 (FBLN7) is an adhesion protein excreted into the extracellular matrix that functions multiple biological processes. However, whether how FBLN7 affects post-MI remains unclear. Here, authors identify as a critical profibrotic regulator of adverse remodeling. They observe significantly upregulated serum levels MI patients with left ventricular compared to those without MI. Microarray...
CX3CL1, also named fractalkine or neurotactin, is the only known member of CX3C chemokine family that can chemoattract several immune cells. CX3CL1 exists in both membrane-anchored and soluble forms, with each mediating distinct biological activities. signals are transmitted through its unique receptor, CX3CR1, primarily expressed microglia central nervous system (CNS). In CNS, acts as a regulator activation response to brain disorders inflammation. Recently, there has been growing interest...
Microvascular destabilization is the primary cause of inner blood-retinal barrier (iBRB) breakdown and increased vascular leakage in diabetic retinopathy (DR). results from combinational effects levels growth factors cytokines, involvement inflammation, changed cell-to-cell interactions, especially loss endothelial cells pericytes, due to hyperglycemia hypoxia. As manifestation microvascular destabilization, fluid transports via paracellular transcellular routes increase disruption...
The use of allogeneic stem cells strongly extends the range cell applications in dentistry; however, immunological rejection remains a major concern. There is little information about features dental-related literature. Therefore, we investigated characteristics from root apical papilla (SCAP) swine vitro by measuring T immunomodulation and apoptosis. We found that SCAP expressed low level leukocyte antigen (SLA) class I molecules were negative for SLA II DR molecules. Moreover, could...
To investigate the role of viral load in pathogenesis hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, Hantaan virus RNA plasma from 101 patients was quantified, and relationships between disease course, severity, level specific humoral immunity were analyzed. The load, detectable 79 patients, ranged 3.43 to 7.33 log10 copies/mL plasma. In early stage disease, severe/critical group found have higher loads than those mild/moderate (5.90 vs 5.03 copies/mL; P = .001), suggesting an association severity.
Abstract Malignant tumors typically undergo an atavistic regression characterized by the overexpression of embryonic genes and proto-oncogenes, including a variety cancer/testis antigens (CTAs) that are testis-derived not expressed or in trace amounts somatic tissues. Based on this theory, we established new method to identify unknown CTAs, spermatogenic cells-specific monoclonal antibody-defined antigen (SADA) method. Using SADA method, identified BAP31 as novel CTA confirmed expression is...
Hantaviruses infection causing severe emerging diseases with high mortality rates in humans has become public health concern globally. The potential roles of CD4(+)T cells viral control have been extensively studied. However, the contribution to host response against Hantaan virus (HTNV) remains unclear. Here, based on T-cell epitopes mapped HTNV glycoprotein, we studied effects and characteristics CD4(+)T-cell responses determining outcome hemorrhagic fever renal syndrome. A total 79 novel...
Hantaan virus (HTNV) causes hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). Previous studies have identified interferon-induced transmembrane proteins (IFITMs) as an interferon-stimulated gene family. However, the role of IFITMs in HTNV infection is unclear. In this study, we observed that IFITM3 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) rs12252 C allele and CC genotype associated disease severity load plasma HFRS patients. vitro experiments showed truncated protein produced by exhibited impaired...
Intestinal flora plays an important role in atherosclerosis. Tongxinluo, as a multi-target Chinese medicine to improve atherosclerosis, whether it can atherosclerosis by affecting the intestinal is worth exploring. We established vulnerable plaque model of New Zealand white rabbits high cholesterol diet and balloon injury (HCB), performed Tongxinluo intervention. detected level inflammation immunohistochemistry, Western Blot, ELISA, analyzed characteristics calculating vulnerability index,...
Background Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) suffer from dysfunctional metabolism and studies have reported increased levels of tryptophan in patients PCOS. However, the changes downstream metabolites catabolism pathways remain unclear. Methods This is a cross-sectional study that included 200 PCOS control women who were recruited Reproductive Medicine Center Peking University Third Hospital October 2017 to June 2019. The group further divided into subtypes normal weight...
