We report on a new kind of white light emitting glass suitable for long-wavelength ultraviolet excitation by simultaneously blue, green and red fluorescence, which is fabricated melting Ce(3+)-Tb(3+)-Mn(2+) co-doped borosilicate glass. The spectroscopic properties singly, doubly triply doped glasses have been reported the energy transfer from Ce(3+) to Tb(3+) Mn(2+) has also investigated. By adjusting concentration different co-dopants, we obtained ideal with color coordinate (x = 0.318, y 0.333).

To tailor clusters of active ions in glasses is laborious but critical for obtaining high efficient luminescence. Here, we present a facile method to by using one kind porous host, the nanoporous silica glass. The white light-emitting were prepared sintering impregnated with Ce3+, Tb3+, Mn2+ and Al3+ ions. combination blue, green red emissions Tb3+ under ultraviolet light excitation create emissions. fluorescence long-wavelength are dependent on energy transfer processes between ions; plays...

We have demonstrated a helical long-period grating (HLPG) manufactured from multicore fiber (MCF) combined with twist and CO2-laser heating technology. The MCF we used behaves as kind of single mode fiber. nineteen cores are distributed hexagonally which make the structure only exist in core area after twisting. There several strong couplings between cladding modes at different wavelengths when pitch was 900 µm. extinction ratio main coupling reached 20 dB 1550 nm. investigated sensor...

The effect of Yb(3+) concentration on the broadband emission intensity and peak wavelength shift in Yb/Bi ions co-doped silicate glasses is investigated. optimal Bi(2)O(3) range about 2.0-2.5 mol% 65SiO(2)-10Al(2)O(3)-25CaO matrix (SAC glasses). For codoped SAC glasses, maximum excited by 980 nm LD ~30 times 1.5 higher than that single Bi-doped 808 LD, respectively, shows obvious red-shift from 1185 to 1235 band with Yb(2)O(3) change 0 3.0 mol%. same measured fluorescence lifetime near 1020...

We report on a new kind of green-emitting high silica luminous glass, which is fabricated by sintering Ce(3+)-Tb(3+) co-doped porous glass. The spectra show that there are energy transfer between Ce(3+) and Tb(3+), cross-relaxation (5)D(3) (5)D(4) level Tb(3+). process can be adjusted addition Ca(2+) into the rate enhanced about four times than role has been discussed, fluorescence decay curve reveals play an important in transfer.
