Human papillomavirus (HPV) infections are strongly associated with the development of cervical intraepithelial neoplasias and invasive cancer. Polymorphisms in cytokine-encoding genes behavioural cofactors could play an important role protecting individual against viral Here, we investigated whether IL-6 -174 G>C, IL-8 +396 G>T, TGF-β1 +869 G>C +915 polymorphisms were susceptibility to HPV infection women from north-east (Pernambuco) Brazil. We analysed 108 healthy uninfected (HC)...

The study of Externally Visible Characteristics (EVC) pigmentation associated with SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) has become a target in the forensic field due to possibility phenotypically characterizing an individual. In Brazil, there are few data that shows evaluation some these markers, so further studies necessary understand better process related genetic markers. aim this was test association between 8 present HIrisplex tool and EVC provide starting point for development...

Background: Cervical cancer is the fourth most common among women worldwide. In order to make diagnosis earlier and more accurate, increase prospect of using microRNA-29b, which targets matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), proteolytic enzymes that play a significant role in degradation important extracellular progression cervical carcinogenic lesions. Objectives: The aim this study was evaluate levels expression microRNA-29b at all histological carcinogenesis its relationship with MMP-2 type...

Introduction Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are zinc dependent endopeptidases that act on both renewal and remodeling of the extracellular matrix. Increased expression these proteins is associated with neoplastic, invasive metastatic processes. Studies show in Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (HL), strong metalloproteinase 2 (MMP-2) correlates a favorable prognosis, while 9 (MMP-9) showed an adverse outcome. Therefore, aim our study was to evaluate MMP-2 MMP-9 as prognostic factor patients diagnosed HL.

The aim of our study was to evaluate the expression MMP-2 and MMP-9 as a prognostic factor in patients diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL). In present study, 45 paraffin biopsies from up 19 years old HL were used two referral hospitals state Pernambuco, Brazil. Risk groups classified into favorable unfavorable, according Ann Arbor. matrix metalloproteinases 2 9 their inhibitors performed by immunohistochemistry (IHC). Data analyzed using GraphPad Prism 5 program. intensity pattern stronger...
