Abstract A new dimeric lignan, named biplanispine ( 1 ) which represents the first example of a 2,6‐diaryl‐3,7‐dioxabicyclo[3.3.0]octane skeleton from Rutaceae plant, together with 13 known lignans 2 – 14 , was isolated bark Zanthoxylum planispinum. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, especially 2D‐NMR techniques. All compounds evaluated for their antibacterial activities disc diffusion method. Compounds 7 and 9 showed interesting at 200 μg/disc; they as effective...
Glycoborinine (GB), a natural carbazole alkaloid isolated from Glycosmis pentaphylla, has been shown to be potential molecule against cancer cells. In this study, the cell-signaling pathway of its anti-tumor activity was investigated. MTT assay result showed that GB inhibited HepG2 cell proliferation in dose- and time-dependent manner 50% inhibiting concentration (IC50) GB-induced death 39.7 μM for period 48 h. apoptosis confirmed by Hochest 33258 staining PI staining. The level reactive...
Phytochemical investigation on the whole plants of Ypsilandra yunnanensis was carried out for first time and led to isolation five new cholestanol glycosides, ypsiyunnosides A–E (1–5), one known analogue. Their structures were determined mainly by detailed spectroscopic analysis, including extensive 1D 2D NMR, MS UV, as well chemical methods. Among them, compound 1 possessed a rare 6/6/6/5/5 fused-rings sketelon, which identified...

(Lardizabalaceae), an evergreenherb growing in southern China, commonly known as “YeMu Gua”, has been used a traditional Chinese medicine, especially for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
Abstract Background Longan is the fruit of Dimocarpus longan Lour. and arillus has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands years possessing various health benefits. However, excessive intake found daily life to cause “ shanghuo ” syndrome. Shanghuo linked increased disease susceptibility. The present study thus aimed investigate toxicological outcomes after excess treatment. Methods extract at a normal dosage 4 g/kg two dosages 8 16 was orally administered C57BL/6J mice 2...
