Sumário 1. Conceitos Básicos sobre o Estudo da Deformação do Ventrículo Esquerdo 7 1.1. Breve Introdução aos Princípios Físicos Formação dos Speckles na Imagem Cardiovascular […] Posicionamento Departamento de Sociedade Brasileira Cardiologia Uso Strain Miocárdico Rotina Cardiologista – 2023
Background— Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is common in patients with heart failure (HF), and hypoxia hypercapnia episodes activate chemoreceptors stimulating autonomic reflex responses. We tested the hypothesis that muscle vasoconstriction sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA) response to would be more pronounced HF SDB than without (NoSBD). Methods Results— Ninety consecutive HF, New York Heart Association functional class II–III, left ventricular ejection fraction ≤40% were screened for...

To evaluate the prognostic impact of parameters myocardial deformation using three-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (3DSTE) in patients with breast cancer who underwent chemotherapy low doses anthracyclines.Chemotherapy-related cardiotoxicity has an important on survivors. Three-dimensional STE revealed more consistent data than two-dimensional techniques and may represent a accurate tool evaluation function chemotherapy. We evaluated were treated anthracyclines (associated or...
The role of strain analysis using 2-dimensional speckle tracking (2DST) has been well documented, and it represents an important complementary tool in the assessment cardiac mechanics, adding value identification incipient subclinical myocardial injury different clinical scenarios.A significant advance related to echocardiography was development 3-dimensional (3DST), which potential overcome many limitations intrinsic technology, offering additional parameters deformation (such as area...
A 41-year-old female patient with a previous diagnosis of hepatosplenic form schistosomiasis and alcoholic hepatic disease presented intermittent chest pain confusion during outpatient evaluation for liver transplantation. Physical examination revealed skin pallor, mild jaundice, ascitis, bilateral lower-extremity oedema. Cardiac rhythm was regular, systolic murmur at the tricuspid …
Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is crucial in order to assess aortic anatomy after stroke. Although routinely used cardiovascular and function, three-dimensional (3D TEE) less for evaluation. We thus sought prospectively whether additional information on plaque morphology could be obtained with 3D TEE an ischemic stroke.Patients within one week of a stroke (confirmed by brain computed tomography/magnetic resonance) underwent findings were compared two-dimensional (2D) (aorta number,...
Rupture of tricuspid valve is unusual, occurring mainly in the setting blunt trauma or endomyocardial biopsy. Spontaneous chordal rupture particularly rare. We report herein a case patient with severe pulmonary hypertension, on lung transplantation waiting list, who presented spontaneous rupture, exacerbation insufficiency and worsening clinical status. Diagnosis treatment, along possible mechanisms for this complication, are discussed.
Abstract Background Information is lacking concerning in-hospital echocardiography analysis of COVID-19 infection in Brazil. We evaluated echocardiographic parameters to predict a composite endpoint mortality, pulmonary thromboembolism or acute renal failure. Methods A prospective full study consecutive patients hospitalized with COVID-19, single tertiary centre correlated findings biomarkers, clinical information, thoracic tomography, and Results One hundred eleven from March October 2020,...
Fundamento: O Doppler tecidual é uma técnica que complementa a análise da função diastólica do ventrículo esquerdo. No entanto, alguns fatores podem influenciar suas medidas, entre estes idade, cuja contribuição não está adequadamente esclarecida
We tested the hypothesis that muscle vasoconstriction in response to hypercapnia and hypoxia would be more pronounced patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) sleep apnea than CHF alone. Ninety consecutive patients, Functional Class II‐III NYHA, LVEF≤40% were selected study. Forty‐two who fulfilled all inclusion criteria enrolled study: No Sleep Disordered Breathing (NoSDB, n=13, 47±3y), Obstructive Apnea (OSA, n=22, 57±1y) Central (CSA, n=07, 53±3y). was characterized by apnea‐hypopnea...
Echocardiography was introduced as a method of investigation for different heart diseases in the 1950s. Since then, several new echocardiographic techniques have been into clinical practice with aim expanding possibilities diagnostic and making it possible to understand pathophysiology various diseases. In context evolution cardiac using echocardiography, 1990s, possibility observing myocardial strain analysis systolic function, added information well prognostic impact ventricular volumetric...
