Thanks to the availability of MEDITS survey data, a standardized picture occurrence and abundance demersal Chondrichthyes in northern Mediterranean has been obtained. During spring-summer period between 2012 2015, 41 Chondrichthyes, including 18 sharks (5 orders 11 families), 22 batoids (3 4 families) 1 chimaera, were detected from several geographical sub-areas (GSAs) established by General Fisheries Commission for Mediterranean. Batoids had preferential distribution on continental shelf...
According to reports, the following 16 species have extended their distribution other Mediterranean areas or made a new appearance in regions. The first category includes organisms: rare and common Indo-Pacific seaweed Codium arabicum (Lebanese coasts), acari Thalassarachna affinis (Marmara Sea), non-indigenous nudibranch Flabellina rubrolineata, which has also been found many of Aegean Sea. In addition, sea slug Thecacera pennigera (Piccolo Taranto), fangtooth moray Enchelycore anatina...
Experimental trawl sampling was carried out along the South Ionian and Adriatic Seas between 2006 2008 in depths from 71 to 586 m. This study investigates available information on biology of P. longirostris both areas. The length frequency distribution Greek specimens ranged 7.08-38 mm CL (2-3 size groups), while 14-37 (1-2 groups) Montenegrin samples not significantly dependent depth values slope (b) CL-W relationships countries were similar those found other Mediterranean areas higher...
Biological aspects (length frequency distribution, length-weight ratio, sex allometric growth, Fulton?s condition factor) of Upogebia pusilla were studied in Tivat Saline (Tivatska solila), Boka Kotorska Bay 2019. A total 1,415 individuals collected. The length all ranged from 27 to 55 mm (8 and 20 CL), while the weights 0.29 2.56 g (the males 51 mm, non-ovigerous ovigerous females 30 respectively; 2.52 g, 0.34 0.47 for males, ovoid females, respectively). overall female:male ratio was...
