In order to evaluate a possible therapy for hypersplenism, an experiment with animals was done. nine dogs, 0.6 ml/kg body weight of 5% ethanolamine oleate injected percutaneously into the spleen under ultrasound guidance. The injection repeated three times at intervals 1 week. Three dogs each were killed 1, 4, and 8-weeks after final injection. All tolerated procedure well lived until they killed. platelet count leukocyte increased injections, remained higher than pretreatment level death....
Neuroblastoma is among the most fatal of solid tumors in pediatric age group, even when treated aggressively. Therefore, a new effective therapeutic drug(s) for neuroblastoma urgently needed. To clarify anticancer effects sesquiterpene lactones dehydrocostus lactone and costunolide, derived from Saussurea lappa, we examined cytotoxic migration/invasion-inhibitory these compounds against cell lines. Both exerted significant cytotoxicity lines IMR-32, NB-39, SK-N-SH, LA-N-1. Evidence cellular...
Abstract Nine amino acid conjugate derivatives, each 2 – 10 and 12 20 , were prepared from abietic ( 1 ) dehydroabietic 11 ), respectively, they evaluated for their cytotoxicities against four human cancer cell lines, i.e. leukemia (HL60), lung (A549), stomach (AZ521), breast (SK‐BR‐3). All compounds showed HL60 with IC 50 values in the range of 2.3–37.3 μ M . In addition, most derivatives exhibited moderate other lines. Among methyl N ‐[18‐oxoabieta‐8,11,13‐trien‐18‐yl]‐ L ‐tyrosinate 19...
Seven triterpenoids, 1 - 7, two diarylheptanoids, 8 and 9, four phenolic compounds, 10 13, three other 14 16, were isolated from the hexane MeOH extracts of bark Myrica cerifera L. (Myricaceae). Among these betulin (1), ursolic acid (3), myricanol (8) exhibited cytotoxic activities against HL60 (leukemia), A549 (lung), SK-BR-3 (breast) human cancer cell lines (IC50 3.1 24.2 μm). Compound induced apoptotic death in cells 5.3 μm) upon evaluation apoptosis-inducing activity by flow cytometric...
Abstract Two jasmonate derivatives, glucosylcucurbic acid ( 1 ) and methyl glucosylcucurbate 2 ), were isolated from the MeOH extract of defatted shea Vitellaria paradoxa ; Sapotaceae) kernels. These their deglucosylated cucurbic 3 cucurbate 4 evaluated for melanogenesis‐inhibitory cancer chemopreventive potencies. Compounds 1, , exhibited potent activities in α ‐melanocyte‐stimulating hormone ‐MSH)‐stimulated B16 melanoma cells. Western ‐blot analysis revealed that compounds reduced protein...
Indirubin inhibits cyclin-dependent kinases by binding to their ATP-binding site, thereby exerting potent cytotoxicity on some tumor cells. We examined the anti-tumor effect of indirubin 3'-epoxide human neuroblastoma cell lines (IMR-32, SK-N-SH, and NB-39). The results revealed against IMR-32 (IC50: 0.16 µM) SK-N-SH 0.07 Furthermore, it also induced an increase sub-G1 population in Examination Hoechst 33342 staining apoptosis characterized shrinkage, nuclear condensation fragmentation a...
Background Closed reduction is of great benefit for fracture healing. However, achieving this without sacrificing the accuracy and exposing surgeon patient to excessive radiation difficult. Methods A novel parachute guiding system (ParaEx System) was developed closed fractures based on computed tomography data. The included two counter guides with stainless tubular markers that could be attached unilateral external fixator. Comminuted tibial diaphyseal models were used validate ParaEx...
Five oleanane-type triterpene glycosides including three new ones, proceraosides E–G (1–3), were isolated from a MeOH-soluble extract of Albizia procera bark. The structures 1–3 determined by use NMR spectra, HRESIMS, and chemical methods. Compounds 1–5 exhibited inhibitory activities against the proliferation A549, SKBR3, AZ521, HL60 human cancer cell lines (IC50 0.28–1.8 μM). Additionally, apoptosis-inducing activity compound 2 was evaluated Hoechst 33342 staining flow cytometry, while...
Twenty‐eight taraxastane‐type triterpenoid derivatives 4 – 31 were prepared from the naturally occurring triterpenoids faradiol ( 1 ) and heliantriol C 3 ). The cytotoxic activities of these compounds arnidiol 2 evaluated in leukemia HL 60), lung (A549), duodenal AZ 521), breast SK ‐ BR ‐3) cancer cell lines. 21‐Oxoarnidiol 18 3,16‐di‐ O l ‐alaninate exhibited potent cytotoxicity, with 50% inhibitory concentrations 0.5 2.7 μ m . In particular, flow cytometric analysis indicated that compound...
Tetraprenylacetone (TPA: teprenon, geranylgeranylacetone) is a novel anti-ulcer agent developed in Japan. The aim of this study was to test whether TPA has the ability promote healing process rat gastric mucosal injury induced by absolute ethanol (ET). Fasted rats received orally 5 ml/kg ET. Sixty minutes later, (200 mg/kg) or saline (control) administered intragastrically. Thereafter, same dose given every 8 hours. To investigate role endogenous prostaglandins, indomethacin...
