The presence of organic micropollutants in water sources worldwide has created a need for the development effective and selective oxidation methods complex matrices. This study is first report combination ferrate(VI) (Fe(VI)) periodate (PI) synergistic, rapid, elimination multiple micropollutants. combined system was found to outperform other Fe(VI)/oxidant systems (e.g., H2O2, peroxydisulfate, peroxymonosulfate) rapid decontamination. Scavenging, probing, electron spin resonance experiments...

Six years have passed since renewed attention was paid to primary amines as potential organocatalysts in 2004. Numerous high quality studies this field provided chemists with valuable insights into the unique properties of chiral aminocatalysis. Among diverse catalysts, natural cinchona alkaloid-derived catalysts been widely regarded a branch efficiency. This review examines literature published between 2008 and late 2010, concerning amine catalysis.

Abstract Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a pressing issue in China, with antibiotic therapy becoming less effective against bacterial infections. To address this challenge, the China Surveillance Network (CHINET) was established 2005 to monitor antimicrobial country. This study analyzed CHINET data from teaching hospitals and evaluated trends of AMR 2018 2022. A range 163,636 301,917 isolates obtained per year, majority being Gram-negative bacilli (69.0% 71.8%). The proportion important...

Abstract A Lewis base assisted Brønsted catalysis (LBABB) strategy is applied for direct asymmetric vinylogous alkylation of allylic sulfones with Morita–Baylis–Hillman (MBH) carbonates, in which a strong base, tert ‐butoxy anion, generated situ from tertiary amine catalyst and MBH carbonate, crucial activating unstabilized nucleophiles. The γ‐regioselective products were obtained good to excellent enantiomeric excess values when catalyzed by modified cinchona alkaloid.

Bifunctional chiral organocatalysts comprising thiourea and tertiary amine groups were synthesized. They act as efficient catalysts for asymmetric Michael addition of arylthiols to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. Enantioselectivity up 85% has been achieved. Asymmetric α-protonation reaction (up 60% ee) can be obtained in the presence bifunctional catalyst.
