Human infection with non-typhoidal Salmonella serovars (NTS) infrequently causes invasive systemic disease and bacteremia. To understand better the nature of NTS (iNTS), we studied gene content pathogenicity bacteremic strains from twelve (Typhimurium, Enteritidis, Choleraesuis, Dublin, Virchow, Newport, Bredeney, Heidelberg, Montevideo, Schwarzengrund, 9,12:l,v:- Hadar). Comparative genomic hybridization using a enterica microarray revealed core 3233 genes present in all iNTS strains, which...

We have found that poly(L-lysine) can be a very effective agent in preventing the growth of Ehrlich ascites tumors mice. When given optimal doses (Mr 60 x 10(3)) intraperitoneally for 5 consecutive days, beginning on day 1 after inoculation with cells. White Swiss mice show nearly 100% remission from subsequent tumor growth. Rechallenge "cured" animals cells, however shows no long-term immunological protection. In tissue culture, related potent cytotoxicity HeLa cells; interestingly, D...

AbstractBackground:
Ferritin, an iron storage protein and acute phase reactant, has been implicated in various aspects of human health disease, including cancer. Previous studies have identified elevated serum ferritin (SF) levels several cancer types, but a comprehensive examination across different malignancies remains lacking. This study aims to fill this gap by utilizing anonymized data from Maccabi Health Services (MHS), one Israel’s largest organizations, explore the...

In this nationwide study, we aimed to explore healthcare services utilization, medical management, and disease outcomes of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) across the 2 major ethnic groups in Israel. We utilized a cohort including all patients diagnosed with IBD Israel since 2005. The primary outcome was steroid dependency, secondary use biologics, time surgery, hospitalizations. Outcomes were controlled for possible inherent differences course phenotype. Of 32 491 included patients, 18 252...

In this article, we report the details of ASUNA, a freely shared data set for underwater network emulation. ASUNA tackles time-consuming and costly logistics multiple networking sea trials by providing benchmark database time-varying topologies recorded across experiments, thus facilitating experiment replay The currently includes 20 diverse, topology structures, multimodal communication technologies, different link quality measurements. With aim becoming standard benchmark, is open to...

Abstract The inadequacy of medical therapies for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is driving the development device‐based solutions targeting underlying pathophysiologic abnormalities. maladaptive autonomic imbalance a reduction in vagal parasympathetic activity and increased sympathetic signalling contributes to deterioration cardiac performance, patient fitness, overall morbidity mortality. Thoracic aortic afferents mediate signalling, their stimulation has been...

Falls during hospitalization harbor both clinical and financial outcomes. The modified Morse fall scale [MMFS] is widely used for an in-hospital risk-of-fall assessment. Nevertheless, the majority of patients at risk falling, i.e. with high MMFS, do not fall. aim this study was to ascertain our hypothesis that certain patients' characteristics (e.g. serum electrolytes, usage a walking device etc.) could further stratify falls among hospitalized MMFS.This retrospective cohort analysis adult...
