症例は76歳，女性．全身倦怠感と発熱を主訴に受診し，汎血球減少を認めたため入院となった．入院当初は骨髄異形成症候群およびそれに伴う感染症が疑われたが，治療抵抗性であり，徐々に意識状態や循環動態の悪化が進行した．血管炎症候群が疑われて施行したステロイドパルス療法にて一旦は症状の改善を認めたが，腹痛の出現とともに再び全身状態が悪化した．CT所見にて腹腔内free airおよび腹水の増量を認めたため，消化管穿孔の診断にて外科紹介となった．術中所見では限局性の小腸壊死穿孔を認め，切除標本の病理学的所見にて血管内リンパ腫と診断された．術後はICUにて重症管理を要したが，血管内リンパ腫に対し化学療法を施行することにより劇的に全身状態の改善を認め救命が可能となった．
症例は64歳の男性で，人間ドッグの上部内視鏡検査で2 cm大の胃粘膜下腫瘍を指摘された．Endo-scopic ultrasonographyでは第4層由来の腫瘍でgastrointestinal stromal tumorが疑われたがfine-needle aspirationでは診断がつかず，診断的治療目的で腹腔鏡下に切除を行った．腫瘍は亜有茎性の胃壁外性であり，自動縫合器を用いて切離した．病理組織検査では，腫瘍は固有筋層と連続して漿膜下に増殖しており，硝子化した膠原繊維を伴う紡錘形細胞の増殖と一部に石灰化および炎症細胞の浸潤がみられた．紡錘形細胞は免疫組織染色検査でvimentinが陽性であったが，CD34，c-kit，α-smooth muscle actin，desmin，S-100は全て陰性で，石灰化線維性腫瘍（calcifying fibrous tumor；以下，CFTと略記）と診断した．現在術後1年再発なく経過している．胃壁原発のCFTの報告は極めてまれである．
