BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) is responsible for hemorrhagic cystitis and nephropathy in bone marrow- kidney transplant recipients, respectively. Monitoring BKPyV DNAuria and/or DNAemia by quantitative molecular tests thus a common practice the management of these patients. However, critical issues have been raised regarding methods detection viral genomes positive PCR not always associated with true replication. Identification novel biomarkers development new assays are needed to help clinicians...

Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this investigation was to characterize Merkel cell carcinomas (MCC) arisen in patients affected by autoimmune diseases and treated with biologic drugs. Experimental Design: Serum samples from MCC were analyzed for the presence titer antibodies against antigens oncogenic polyomavirus (MCPyV). IgG viral oncoproteins large T (LT) small (ST) capsid protein-1 indirect ELISA. Viral recombinant LT/ST virus-like particles (VLP), respectively. MCPyV DNA sequences...

Coccidiosis, a disease caused by intestinal apicomplexan parasites Eimeria, is threat to poultry production. Eimeria tenella one of the most pathogenic species, frequently causing high prevalence opportunistic infections. The objective this study investigate role microbiota in pathogenesis severe infection. We have previously shown that can promote parasite development. To effect on infection, we used an experimental condition (inoculum 10 000 oocysts E. INRAE) which load similar between...

Coccidiosis is a widespread intestinal disease of poultry caused by parasite the genus Eimeria. Eimeria tenella, one most virulent species that specifically colonizes caeca, an organ which harbors rich and complex microbiota. Our objective was to study impact microbiota on infection development using original model germ-free broilers. We observed chickens presented significantly much lower load oocysts in caecal contents than conventional chickens. This decrease measurable tissue RT-qPCR at...

Recently, YAP1 fusion genes have been demonstrated in eccrine poroma and porocarcinoma, the diagnostic use of immunohistochemistry has highlighted this setting. In other organs, loss expression can reflect rearrangement or transcriptional repression, notably through RB1 inactivation. context, our objective was to re-evaluate performance for diagnosis porocarcinoma. The C-terminal part protein evaluated by 543 cutaneous epithelial tumours, including 27 poromas, 14 porocarcinomas 502 tumours....

The cell adhesion protein CD56 has been identified as a potential therapeutic target in several solid tumors and hematological malignancies. Recently, we developed CD56-directed antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), called Adcitmer demonstrated its antitumor properties preclinical models of the rare aggressive skin cancer Merkel carcinoma (MCC). present study aims to further optimize overcome limitations observed with previously evaluated CD56-targeting ADCs, which were partially related toxic...

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is an aggressive skin cancer with a high mortality rate. polyomavirus causes 80% of MCCs, encoding the viral oncogenes small T and truncated large (tLT) antigens. These proteins impair RB1-dependent G1/S checkpoint blockade subvert host epigenome to promote cancer. Whole-proteome analysis proximal interactomics identified tLT-dependent deregulation DNA damage response (DDR). Our investigation revealed, our knowledge, previously unreported interaction between tLT...

Trichodysplasia spinulosa (TS) is a rare skin disease, caused by specific polyomavirus, occurring in immunocompromised patients. The pathophysiological mechanisms of TS are not yet fully understood. By using polymerase chain reaction and biopsy immunostaining we report evidence, paediatric case, follicular keratinocytes being the primary target trichodysplasia spinulosa-associated polyomavirus.

Malawi polyomavirus (MWPyV) is 10th discovered human (HPyV 10). MWPyV was found stool samples healthy children. So far, few investigations carried out on 10 did not find an association with disease. Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV), a small DNA tumor virus, has been detected in carcinoma (MCC) and normal tissues. Since MCPyV infection occurs both MCC-affected patients healthy subjects (HS), innovative immunoassays for detecting antibodies (abs) against are required. Herein, sera from HS were analyzed with novel indirect ELISA using two synthetic peptides mimicking capsid protein epitopes of VP1 VP2. Synthetic designed to recognize IgGs VP mimotopes computer-assisted approach. The assay...
