We compared 19,207 cases of SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.1.7/S gene target failure (SGTF), 436 B.1.351 and 352 P.1 to non-variant reported by seven European countries. COVID-19 with these variants had significantly higher adjusted odds ratios for hospitalisation (B.1.1.7/SGTF: 1.7, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.0–2.9; B.1.351: 3.6, CI: 2.1–6.2; P.1: 2.6, 1.4–4.8) B.1.1.7/SGTF also intensive care admission 2.3, 1.4–3.5; 2.2, 1.7–2.8).

By 9 December 2021, 785 SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant cases have been identified in Denmark. Most were fully (76%) or booster-vaccinated (7.1%); 34 (4.3%) had a previous infection. The majority of with available information reported symptoms (509/666; 76%) and most infected Denmark (588/644; 91%). One five cannot be linked to cases, indicating widespread community transmission. Nine hospitalised, one required intensive care no deaths registered.

A highly virulent sub-lineage of the Streptococcus pyogenes M1 clone has been rapidly expanding throughout Denmark since late 2022 and now accounts for 30% new invasive group streptococcal infections. We report an epidemic of parvovirus B19 infections in Denmark during the first quarter 2024, with a peak incidence 3.5 times higher than most recent 2017. In total, 20.1% (130/648) laboratory-confirmed cases were pregnant. Severe adverse outcomes observed among 12.3% (16/130) pregnant people and included foetal anaemia, hydrops miscarriage. Parvovirus infection is not systematically monitored, but national laboratory-based surveillance system currently being established Denmark.
