The global spread of the ectoparasitic mite Varroa destructor has promoted and virulence highly infectious honey bee viruses. This phenomenon is considered leading cause for increased number colony losses experienced by mite-susceptible European populations in Northern hemisphere. Most Central South America are Africanized bees (AHBs), which more resistant to compared bees. However, relationship between levels viruses AHBs remains unknown. In this study, we determined prevalence infestation...

In the high mountains of Colombian Eastern Cordillera (~2000–3000 m above sea level), at Altiplano Cundiboyacense region and surroundings, beekeepers have specialised in pollen production with substantial harvests all year round. Despite this productive advantage, knowledge about plants used by honeybees as resources is still limited. Hence, aim work was to identify botanical origin bee from examine differences between five distinguished sub-regions: Sabana de Bogotá, Fúquene, Márquez,...

Orchid bees are important keystone pollinators from the Neotropics. With aim to study relationships between orchid and their nectar aromatic host species, we made systematic samplings of males across two conservation areas in biogeographic Choc6 Region Colombia. We used chemical baits collect 352 male during five months. The pollen attached bodies was extracted for palynological identification estimate interaction networks. euglossine community consisted at least 22 species including Eg....

A common denominator that affects the production areas is dramatic loss of fertility and thus, natural productive capacity soils through a sustained process erosion. The problem soil was largely due to improper practices, such as monoculture, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, intensive farming, genetically modified seeds, among others.Agroecological alternative allows recovery soils, compost making, its quality depends microbial diversity associated with it.The aim work focused on...
