Understanding the sleep quality and architecture is essential to human being's health, which usually represented using multiple stages. A standard stage determination requires Electroencephalography (EEG) signals during expensive labor-intensive Polysomnography (PSG) test. To overcome this inconvenience, cardiorespiratory are proposed for same purpose because of easy comfortable acquisition by simplified devices. In paper, we leverage our low-cost wearable multi-sensor system acquire from...

Abstract The SARS‐CoV‐2 spike (S) protein, a trimeric structure comprising three receptor binding domains (RBDs) and N‐terminal (NTDs), undergoes substantial conformational changes to fusion‐prone open state for angiotensin‐converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) host cell infection. Stabilizing its closed is key antiviral strategy but remains challenging. Here, we introduce S416, novel amphipathic molecule acting as “molecular bolt”. Cryo‐EM study reveals that S416 binds concurrently six sites across...

Background Without timely diagnosis and treatment, tachycardia, also called tachyarrhythmia, can cause serious complications such as heart failure, cardiac arrest, even death. The predictive performance of conventional clinical diagnostic procedures needs improvement in order to assist physicians detecting risk early on. Objective We aimed develop a deep tachycardia onset prediction (TOP-Net) model based on learning (ie, bidirectional long short-term memory) for with easily accessible data....

Summary We examined the effect of different combinations esmolol and nicardipine upon circulatory response to tracheal intubation. One hundred patients were randomly allocated into five groups twenty receive pretreatments saline or (0.5 1.0 mg.kg −1 ) (15 30 µ g.kg ). Significant tachycardia persisted over a 5‐min period after intubation in all compared with baseline levels (p < 0.05). Patients receiving μg.kg showed no significant change systolic blood pressure lower peak than those = 0.023).

Background With the development and promotion of wearable devices their mobile health (mHealth) apps, physiological signals have become a research hotspot. However, noise is complex in obtained from daily lives, making it difficult to analyze automatically resulting high false alarm rate. At present, screening out high-quality segments huge-volume data with few labels remains problem. Signal quality assessment (SQA) essential able advance valuable information mining signals. Objective The...

Oxygen uptake (VO2) is an important parameter in sports medicine, health assessment and clinical treatment. At present, more wearable devices are used daily life, treatment care. The parameters obtained by wearables have great research potential application prospect. In this paper, instantaneous VO2 estimation model based on XGBoost was proposed verified using data from a medical-grade device (Beijing SensEcho) at different posture activity levels. Furthermore, physiological characteristics...

With the fast development of mobile health technology, wearable device provides continuous monitoring in a low-cost and convenient way, which is promising solution for personalized medicine. However, signal quality issue limits its wide adoption. In our study, we proposed robust electrocardiogram (ECG) assessment algorithm. The algorithm has been validated real clinical scenario with excellent performance.
