食道癌肉腫は食道癌の中で比較的まれな組織型である．当院において，2000年から2013年の間に食道切除術が施行され，病理学的に癌肉腫と診断された7例について臨床病理学的検討を行った．全例男性，平均71歳．食道亜全摘術が5例に対して，食道亜全摘胃全摘術が2例に対して施行された．肉眼的形態は4例で0-Ip型を呈した．病理学的腫瘍深達度はT1bが3例，T2が2例，T3が2例であった．リンパ節転移を57.1％の症例に認めた．7例中2例に免疫染色でG-CSF陽性であった．1例は術後1年後に肺転移を生じ化学療法を施行している．1例は術後30病日に脳出血のため死亡した．7例中5例が無病生存中で，うち3例は5年以上生存している．深達度の浅い症例でもリンパ節転移の可能性があるので，治療には郭清を伴った食道切除術を中心とし，必要に応じて化学療法や放射線療法を加えることが妥当と考える．
Despite the frequent rapid spread of esophageal cancers to other organs, metastases small intestine are uncommon.
