Genetic variation is a key component for improving stock through selective breeding programs. Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers were used to assess genetic in three wild population of the catla carp (Catla Hamilton 1822) Halda, Jamuna and Padma rivers one hatchery Bangladesh. Five decamer random primers amplify RAPD from 30 fish each population. Thirty 55 scorable bands polymorphic, indicating some degree all populations. The proportion loci gene diversity values reflected...

A comparative study on the level of expression lacZ reporter constructs driven by equivalent carp and rat beta-actin regulatory sequences was carried out in embryos tilapia rainbow trout. DNA microinjected into fertilised trout eggs embryos/fry were assayed at various developmental stages for beta-galactosidase expression. We provide evidence to demonstrate that promoter/ gene is expressed higher levels than construct both species.
