Background and Purpose— Mechanical thrombectomy using stent retriever devices have been advocated to increase revascularization in intracranial vessel occlusion. We present the results of a large prospective study on use Solitaire Flow Restoration patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods— Thrombectomy for Acute Revascularization was an international, multicenter, prospective, single-arm anterior circulation strokes treated within 8 hours symptom onset. Strict criteria site selection were...

Reactive oxygen species decrease dopamine transporter (DAT) function<i>in vitro</i>. Because of this, and the finding that METH administration causes radical formation <i>in vivo</i>, effects on DAT activity in rat striatum were investigated. A single injection caused a dose-dependent (0–15 mg/kg) [3H]dopamine uptake into striatal synaptosomes prepared 1 h after administration; an effect attributable to decreased <i>V</i>max uptake. Similarly, multiple high-dose...

In 2011, the International Commission on Radiologic Protection established an absorbed-dose threshold to brain of 0.5 Gy as likely produce cerebrovascular disease. this paper, authors investigated doses delivered patients during clinical neuroradiology procedures in a university hospital. The radiation dose was 99 diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures. Brain were calculated mathematic model adult standard anthropomorphic phantom by using technical data x-ray biplane system...

<h3>BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:</h3> Eye lenses are among the most sensitive organs to x-ray radiation and may be considered at risk during neurointerventional radiology procedures. The threshold dose produce eye lens opacities has been recently reduced 500 mGy by International Commission on Radiologic Protection. In this article, authors investigated doses delivered patients9 eyes interventional neuroradiology procedures a university hospital. <h3>MATERIALS METHODS:</h3> Small optically...

We report two cases of normal perfusion pressure breakthrough phenomenon after total brain arteriovenous malformation removal. Hereby, we demonstrate that not only autoregulation impairment in the ipsilateral hemisphere occurs but also contralateral remote vessels response does. Such findings may be observed at 2–4 weeks and resolve 1–3 months.

Endovascular treatment is the of choice for indirect carotid cavernous fistulas (CCFs). Direct surgical obliteration CCFs recommended in highly symptomatic patients or those with an aggressive pattern venous drainage. However, this a technically challenging approach associated significant procedural morbidity. The authors present case which they decided to attempt novel access sinus through foramen ovale before recommending surgery otherwise untreatable dural CCF. This 52-year-old man CCF...

Objectives Definitive treatment of complex supratentorial arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) has been classically assigned to ruptured or progressively symptomatic cases. The aim this study is report our initial experience in the AVMs by means staged embolization with Onyx followed microsurgery. Material and methods Thirteen consecutive patients Spetzler–Martin grades III, IV V were treated between January 2009 June 2010. Mean age at beginning therapy was 34. All symptomatic. AVM size 48 mm,...

To describe cytological changes in meningiomas induced by embolization, which may be carried out a few days before surgery order to soften the tumour and minimize intraoperative bleeding. Although histological have been described, we found no description of such literature. We reviewed 22 cases with prior embolization material was obtained during consultation. In 13 them recognizable were present. On histology, these tumours grade I showed intravascular embolic material.Cellular dissociation...

Evaluation criteria included local general safety, as well quality angioscopy angiography. In the patients there were no significant differences safety between three agents. On other hand, visualisation during clearly...

Traumatic brachial plexus complete avulsions and the subsequent formation of pseudomeningoceles are a well-known entity that usually remains asymptomatic. Pseudomeningocele is due to dural sleeve encasing damaged roots spinal liquid may accumulate locally or in supraclavicular soft tissues. The pseudomeningocele, added associated lesion surrounding vessels, become difficult manage. We describe novel management traumatic pseudomeningocele using an endovascular technique.
