Abstract Deterioration is sometimes unexpected in SARS-CoV2 infection. The aim of our study to establish laboratory predictors mortality COVID-19 disease which can help identify high risk patients. All patients admitted hospital due Covid-19 were included. Laboratory biomarkers that contributed with significant predictive value for predicting the clinical model Cut-off points established, and finally a score was built. 893 Median age 68.2 ± 15.2 years. 87(9.7%) Intensive Care Unit (ICU)...

Abstract Introduction and Objectives Advanced chronic kidney disease (A‐CKD) combined with atrial fibrillation increases the risk of both thrombogenic bleeding events. Left appendage occlusion (LAAO) may be an alternative to oral anticoagulation prevent thromboembolic We aimed evaluate outcomes LAAO in patients A‐CKD. Methods Comparison at long‐term follow‐up diagnosed without A‐CKD (eGFR<30 mL/min/1.73 m 2 ) who underwent between 2009 May 2022. Results Five hundred seventy‐three were...

Background: Limited data are available regarding change in the nutritional status after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). This study evaluated prognostic impact of geriatric risk index following TAVR. Methods: TAVR patients were analyzed a prospective and observational study. To analyze status, was calculated on day at 3-month follow-up. The all-cause mortality, heart failure hospitalization (HF-h), composite death HF using Cox Proportional Hazards model. Results: Four hundred...

Paravalvular leak occurs in 5-17% of patients following surgical valve replacement, more often mitral position. The prognosis without treatment is poor. Percutaneous device closure represents an alternative to repeat surgery. objective this work evaluate the medium and long-term results percutaneous PVL prosthesis. This observational study based on a retrospective registry including consecutive cases undergoing at single tertiary-care center from April 2010 December 2020. safety efficacy...

Cardiogenic shock (CS) is a condition associated with high morbidity and mortality. Our study aimed to perform risk score for in-hospital mortality that allows stratifying the of death in patients CS.This retrospective analysis, which included 135 from Spanish university hospital between 2011 2020. The Santiago Shock Score (S3) was created using clinical, analytical, echocardiographic variables obtained at time admission. The rate 41.5%, acute coronary syndrome (ACS) responsible cause 60.7%...

Healthcare systems are under prominent stress due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A fast and simple triage is mandatory screen patients who will benefit from early hospitalization, those that can be managed as outpatients. There a lack of all-comers scores, no score has been proposed for western-world population. To develop fast-track risk valid every patient at diagnosis.Single-center, retrospective study based on all inhabitants healthcare area. Logistic regression was used identify...

Left atrial appendage (LAA) occlusion has emerged as an al- ternative to oral anticoagulation in non-valvular fibril- lation. The success rate is high, but we are still facing some challenging LAA anatomies that may increase the risk of sub- optimal results. These images show Amplatzer steer- able sheath useful for occlusion, especially cases with anatomies. Small variations distal end angle can improve and reduce complications.

Background: Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) is a safe and effective alternative to oral anticoagulation for thromboprophylaxis in patients with nonvalvular fibrillation. Technological development devices imaging techniques, as well accumulated experience, have increased procedural success rates decreased complications. Same-day discharge protocols been proposed the field of structural heart disease, but this approach has not studied detail LAAO procedure. Aim: The aim study assess...

A simple and reproducible technique to achieve commissural alignment during transcatheter aortic valve replacement with the Allegra is described. Slight rotation of system before insertion necessary. Moreover, thanks its permaflow (Biosensors) radiopaque markings, small adjustments deployment can be made reassess correct alignment.
