This study concerns 65 patients with fibrohistiocytic tumors that microscopically had a bizarre and often malignant appearance. Four histologic types were recognized: atypical fibrous histiocytoma (18 tumors), (33 (seven epithelioid sarcoma tumors). Twenty-one of the malignant) evolved from superficial tissues 44 (29 deep soft tissues. Local recurrences noted in 73% treated by local excision. Metastases occurred 19 (regional lymph nodes 13 instances lungs 14 instances). Five-year survival...

Abstract A review of over 400 primary bone tumors yielded 11 lesions with features allowing classification as malignant fibrous histiocytoma on a purely histological basis. Correlation roentgenograms and clinical data indicated that these occurred osteolytic associated high incidence pathologic fractures in the metaphyses skeletally mature long bones. Nine patients developed pulmonary metastases 3 lymph node within 21 months following diagnosis. The average survival was 12 6 9 who had no...

Morbidly obese patients show several common comorbidities associated with immunological alterations such as a sustained low-level proinflammatory profile. Bacterial product translocation is frequent in inflammation-related diseases and may aggravate patients' clinical outcome.Consecutively admitted morbidly who presented indications for bariatric surgery were studied. Before surgery, subjected to modified fasting diet. Patients underwent by sleeve gastrectomy or laparoscopic Roux-en-Y...

Case of a 4-year-old boy with desmoplastic fibroma the mandible. Desmoplastic fibromas are benign fibrous neoplasms which easily confused other tumors. Although benign, they usually display aggressive local tissue extension and frequently recur when treated conservatively. At present time, wide, excision appears to be treatment choice.

The life histories of organisms are expressed as rates development, reproduction, and survival. However, individuals may experience differential outcomes for the same set rates. Such individual stochasticity generates variance around familiar mean measures history traits, such expectancy reproductive number R 0 . By writing cycles Markov chains, we calculate other indices variability longevity, lifetime output (LRO), age at offspring production, maturity 83 animal 332 plant populations from...

Whether a woman has an earlier or later age at first birth may be influenced by the amount of wealth, its variability. Theory predicts that women tend to delay their when they have high levels material and it experience wealth However, both theoretical empirical work focused mainly on influence these two aspects separately. Here, we study how current household short- long-term variability, together, reproductive onset women. We analyse longitudinal data from Tanzanian Pimbwe (n=495) using...

Globally, mortality and fertility rates generally fall as resource abundance increases. This pattern represents an evolutionary paradox insofar resource-rich ecological contexts can support higher numbers of offspring, a component biological fitness. has not been resolved, in part because the relationships between fertility, life history strategies, reproductive behavior, socioeconomic conditions are complex cultural-historically contingent. We aim to understand how we might make sense this...
