한국과 중국은 동아시아 문화권에 속하며, 특히 역사적, 문화적 유사성이 있기 때문에 양국의 무형문화재 제도에 대한 비교연구는 의미가 있다. 본연구는 중국의 무형문화재의 전승제도 비교 연구를 통해 활성화 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 이를 위해 무형문화재법, 학술논문, 학위논문, 연구보고서, 관련 정책 등의 자료를 분석하였다. 무형문화재법과 중요무형문화재 전승 및 지원제도 비교를 양국은 분류와 지정 등은 유사하였지만 한국보다 종류가 더 많고 한국의 제도적 기원은 중국이 50년 가까이 앞서 요소가 단일하다는 단점이 있으니 앞으로는 무형문화 산업화나 현행 무형 문화법 실태 등 차원에서 연구할 수 있도록 노력하겠다. 본 연구의 결과는 제도 활성화를 위한 향후 연구자료로 활용될 있기를 기대한다.
