A novel boronic acid fluorophore 1/beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CyD) complex sensor for sugar recognition in water has been designed. The probe 1 bearing pyrene moiety as a fluorescent signal transducer exhibits no fluorescence emission, due to its aggregation containing 2% DMSO; however, the addition of beta-CyD this solution largely changes UV-vis and spectra by forming an inclusion with beta-CyD, efficient emission response 1/beta-CyD upon binding is found be obtained at pH 7.5....

New fluorescent reagents, 2,2'-[oxybis(3-oxapentamethyleneoxy)]-bis[N-(1-pyrenylmethyl)benzamide)] (4) and its analogues (2, 3, 5) which have two pyrenes at the both terminals of polyoxyethylene compounds, were synthesized, their complexation behavior with alkaline earth cations was investigated by fluorescence spectrometry, lifetimes, 1H NMR spectrometry. These reagents (3−5) showed strong intramolecular excimer emissions around 480 nm in spectra. On metal cations, increase monomer emission...
The phenylboronic acid azoprobe (BA-Azo)/gamma-cyclodextrin (gamma-CD) complex exhibits a selective response for D-glucose by forming supramolecular 2:1 inclusion of the azoprobes with inside gamma-CD cavity.
There is an urgent need to develop a rapid and selective method for the detection of bacteria because delayed diagnosis overuse antibiotics have triggered drug resistance in bacteria. To this end, we prepared boronic acid-modified poly(amidoamine) generation 4 (B-PAMAM(G4)) dendrimer as cross-linking molecules that form aggregates with Within 5 min adding B-PAMAM(G4) solution bacterial suspension, large were observed. Interestingly, aggregate formation various was pH-dependent. In basic pH,...
Stable water-in-oil emulsion membranes can be prepared using [dilauryl(dimethyl)ammonium] bromide (DDAB), a cationic surfactant. We ultrasmall cyclodextrin (γ-CyD) nanogels (γ-CyDngs) by forming ionic pairs between the secondary hydroxyl groups of γ-CyDs and DDAB. Fluorescence NMR characterisation obtained γ-CyDngs revealed superior inclusion affinities compared with native γ-CyDs, beneficial for solubilisation hydrophobic compounds in water.
Three fluoroionophores Cn (n = 1, 3, 5), in which the crown ether unit and pyrenyl moiety are connected by a -(CH2)n- spacer, have been used to construct supramolecular Cn/gamma-cyclodextrin (gamma-CyD) complexes for alkali metal ion sensing water. The 5) found selectively form 2:1 with K+ presence of gamma-CyD exhibit pyrene dimer emission Equilibrium analysis C3/gamma-CyD complex reveals that observed arises from 2:1:1 C3 gamma-CyD. In absence K+, fluorescence lifetimes species ((C3)2CyD...
We report herein a novel podand fluoroionophore/γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CyD) complex sensor that shows markedly high selectivity for lead (Pb2+) ion in water.

In this study, we have developed a rational design strategy to obtain highly selective supramolecular recognition systems of cyclodextrins (CyDs) on the basis lock and key principle. We designed synthesized dipicolylamine (dpa)-modified γ-CyD-Cu2+ complexes possessing an azobenzene unit (Cu·1-γ-CyD) examined how they recognized phosphoric acid derivatives in water. The results revealed that Cu·1-γ-CyD ATP with high selectivity over other derivatives. significant blue shift UV-vis spectra 1H...
Fluorescence recognition of d-glucose in water with excellent sensitivity, selectivity, and chiral selectivity is desired because an essential component biological pathological processes. We report innovative approach that exploits the 1:2 stoichiometric inclusion complexes γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CyD) two molecules fluorescent monoboronic acid-based receptors, which form a pseudo-diboronic acid moiety as site for water. Two acids (1F 2N) were easily synthesized without heating or column...

A cationic vesicle interface exhibited a filter function for less hydrophobic anions, and highly selective anion recognition via hydrogen bonding was achieved by thiourea-based chromoionophores (Cn-TU) located deep inside the vesicle.
The aqueous extract of the leaves Odontonema strictum (OSM) is used in folk medicine for its antihypertensive properties, and it contains a wide range secondary metabolites, mostly polyphenols such as verbascoside isoverbascoside, which could play major role preparation silver nanoparticles. In this study, we aimed to prepare AgNPs first time using OSM leaf (OSM-AgNPs) investigate their free radical-scavenging potency against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)....
Nanomaterial-based photothermal therapy is a noninvasive treatment approach that selectively destroys cancer cells by utilizing the ability of nanomaterials to convert photon energy into heat. Although plasmonic gold nanoparticles are promising, this study focuses on developing cost-effective alternatives. We developed aluminum open-shell nanostructures (AlOSNs) as symmetry-breaking structures nanoshells for purpose. The intrinsic low chemical stability AlOSNs in aqueous media (water and...
Various diboronic acid-based chemosensors for d-glucose have been developed use in diabetes diagnostic systems. However, most of these limitations, such as poor water solubility, difficulties synthesis, and inability to selectively detect from among other saccharides. We report a simple chemosensor based on supramolecular complex fluorophenylboronic acid-appended β-cyclodextrin (FPB-βCyD) an anthracene-based probe having boronic acid moiety (1). Hydrophobic 1 is encapsulated the cyclodextrin...
